No, your father is the one that's supposed to come first, then it's about nine months of pregnancy for the mom, then you are born.
Really? I thought it was if you didn't HATE your mother, father and siblings. Or are you people redefining words again?

Here's a reverse Pascal's Wager: what if Jesus isn't actually a savior? Then you will have distanced yourself from your family over a giant lie, and will never be able to make it up to them.
That's yet another major problem I have with fundamentalist Christianity, the very idea that we should shun or practically even HATE people that we know are real and important over fragile faith.

Not fundie. Luke 14:26 says that Jesus said this so it must be pretty much a basic tenet of Christianity. In fact, I don't see how anyone who doesn't believe it can be called a Christian at all.

The Bible does say that.
At all other times, your parents wield absolute power over you, even into adulthood.
The Bible never checked the power of parents- they are not even ordered to go easy on their smallest children.
Then the Bible says you must choose God over your father and mother. Even if this puts you between two immovable forces.
