"No one on the planet has the RIGHT to free medicine or healthcare. Universal healthcare is not a right."
We in the UK have had the National Health service since the late 1940s. And whilst it was introduced by the then Labour government, it was planned & conceived by a Conservative. Wrap your little right-wing mind round that concept. And same Conservative, at the same time, conceived the comprehensive welfare system we have too - introduced at the same time.
I don't think you're in any position to dictate what rights we should and shouldn't have. If you do, then we in the UK say you in the US shouldn't have the right to keep & bear arms. Fair's fair.
"When liberals try to turn a personal responsibility into a universal right, we end up with SOCIALISM."
Actually, you get the above. Which not only works in my home country, Britain, but in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Holland, and many other countries in the EU. Socialism. Why not try it sometime, America? It won't kill you. We're living proof it doesn't.
...oh, but I forgot. You ignorant, right-wing Americentric types think the world ends at your own borders.
The only other thing I can think of to explain your pathological hatred of President Obama's plan, is either A) you've invested in the pharmaceutical companies*, private hospital(s) and/or medical insurance companies. Or B) you're so scared of something that WORKS elsewhere in the world being introduced into your own country, that it'd shatter your fragile worldview about your precious Capitalistic America.
Stupidity, ignorance, and hypocrisy. The political/religious trifecta of right-wing, neocon, anti-Obama fundies.
Rachel1234 & everyone on Ruptured Retards, being a sane, thinking human being is a RESPONSIBILITY.
*- Strangely enough, same US pharmaceutical companies aren't too averse to dealing with our nationalised, Socialistic NHS - supplying it with products. And especially with our NHS physicians, plying them with free holidays, laptops, cars, you name it, for prescribing their particular brand(s) of medicine(s) to their patients (most of whom get such for free anyway, paid for by said NHS) All those free, Socialistic billions of British Pounds for the asking. Aren't you going to say it's WRONG for those companies to do so? Oh, but then is exposed not only the paradox of US capitalism, but it's inherent hypocrisy - certainly the hypocrisy of right-wing, neocon, fundy thinking - the same mindset that's so opposed to Obama's Universal Healthcare plan.
Your call, Rachel1234.
