I never thought about unicorns actually existing! that's pretty neat that they did. i wonder if the unicorns, dragons, etc mentioned in the Bible actually looked like what we picture them as today. Hmmm.... :) there's a thought provoker! :D as some of my teachers say, i hope that one day, when we are in heaven, God has a big projector screen so we can watch all the stories that we've always read about! wouldn't it be cool to be able to actually watch when Moses parted the Red Sea? and all of those other great stories??? i really hope that we'll be able to see them, but if we can't, it won't really matter will it? we'll be in heaven!!!

I am convinced that this is just a Bro. Randy sock puppet. I have been a teacher at the middle and high school level for decades, and this is not a student. The lack of capitalization is deliberate, online posters that neglect capitalization usually also neglect punctuation, and in reality, a student is far more likely to use proper capitalization and punctuation than an adult is online now. It isn't likely that someone who does not feel the need to capitalize would feel the need to put apostrophes in their contractions. No student uses the word "neat." There is too much over-punctuation and too much useage of emoticons in the post.
This whole thing strikes me as an adult trying to sound like a kid, and not having the slightest clue how to do it.
Or course, I could be wrong. T4C might actually have teens posting as dorky as this, but if "Bryan" is real, he has bigger problems. Straight boys don't say "neat," or carry on about how unicorns qualify as "neat"...
I'm... I'm gonna make a wild bet that Brynn is being sarcastic and demeaning, and playing Randy and Debbie for the fools they are. There's a decided lack of AOL-speak, mostly correct capitalization and spelling, and that whole "projector screen" thing is so, so over the top... I think Brynn might be trolling T4C for the fun of it.
You know what is really astounding is, they deny dinosaurs existed even though we have tons upon tons of fossils and skeletons of them, but since unicorns are mentioned in the Bible, they'll believe that even though there is no shred of evidence of them whatsoever.
Well, considering the rest of their religion, sounds about right.
you make an interesting point, Sandman. I was going to go on about the absurdity of a teenager really talking like this (typing, whatever), and you make a lot of sense. I've never heard a teenager use a phrase like "there's a thought provoker!" It really does read like someone older trying to write "young" - sort of "isn't this great, boys and girls?" in tone.
"I never thought about unicorns actually existing!"
I bet there are many, many things you never thought about.
"that's pretty neat that they did."
No, you mean, it would be pretty neat IF they HAD existed. No one has provided any good evidence that unicorns ever existed, so don't start off by assuming that they did.
"i wonder if the unicorns, dragons, etc mentioned in the Bible actually looked like what we picture them as today."
No, because unicorns and dragons are not mentioned in pre-Tudor era Bible translations. They are an artifact of the era in which those versions were created.
"Hmmm.... :)"
Hmmm, indeed.
"there's a thought provoker! :D as some of my teachers say,"
Woohoo!
"i hope that one day, when we are in heaven,"
You presume that heaven exists, though there is no evidence supporting that assumption.
"God has a big projector screen so we can watch all the stories that we've always read about!"
Also, you presume that God exists, though there is no evidence supporting that assumption either. But, that aside, why would God need a "projector screen?" Couldn't he just give you a vision?
"wouldn't it be cool to be able to actually watch when Moses parted the Red Sea?"
You assume that Moses existed and that he parted the Red Sea, though there is no evidence supporting those assumptions. I'm detecting a pattern here, Brynn.
"and all of those other great stories???"
They ARE stories. Whether they are great or not is, at least, a matter of opinion.
"i really hope that we'll be able to see them, but if we can't, it won't really matter will it? we'll be in heaven!!!"
Even the use of 3 exclamation points does not change the fact that there is no evidence that heaven actually exists.
Well, TV means that you don't need to wait, and you shouldn't really because heaven is a pretty long-shot, but yeah, if it happens heaven should kick arse.
Can't God, being omnipotent and all, transcend time? That being the case, can't He just take His elect back in time to watch Moses part the Red Sea (and the concubine in Judges get cut into pieces, and all that good Bible stuff)?
Sweetheart, calm down. When you're in heaven what makes you think you'll want to remember time itself?
And I love the following discussion about Satyrs "Satyrs are mythological, but dragons and unicorns are not" uhm.
Okeday then,
Slainte!

But I thought movies were sinful!
Like Brynn, I am a teenager myself, and I just have to say that this Teens-4-Christ website absolutely sickens me. These teens are completely misinformed, brainwashed, and most likely lack social skills and knowledge of the world around them. Because of this, I often wonder exactly how they are going to make it in the "real world", since they are deeply embedded in a fantasy land. I blame their parents and Brother Randy, who are enforcing their bigoted, and hateful ideologies (as well as their lies), unto these people who are clearly naive and unable to think for themselves. To spread such worthless ideologies to people who are extremely ignorant is abuse, and in my opinion, should be treated as a crime.
Thank you for speaking for us sane teens, Anon.
As for the fundie... THAT'S thought-provoking? We have two adorable little robots roving mars, pictures from the Hubble, incredible, radical technology that's changing constantly, and UNICORNS are thought-provoking???
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
