Yet more anti-education propaganda from the right-wing Christian fundies.
The reason fundies hate the theory of evolution so much is because they're afraid their family & friends will evolve but they themselves won't.
Well,
the ToE can be de facto harmful, at least for any belief in the literal truth of the bible.
But well, there are a lot of other things that are equally harmful for this, for example numerous other sciences (like astronomy/astrophysics, geology, or even archaeology) or actually reading he bible with an open mind (and not only the passages your priest points you to ;) )
Oh, how cute. They made Halloween wine label stickers...
No, wait. They just printed a pile of stupid and rolled adhesive on the back.
Because educating one's self and attempting to learn things is dangerous and quite possibly evil. It's far better to just accept everything that people tell you that this old book of fairy stories says, but you shouldn't read the book itself because that may lead to ~*gasp *~ gaining knowledge, and even worse ~*shudder *~ forming your own opinion. Things like that are best left to those people who say that "god" has empowered them to think for everyone else.
Actually, this one makes sense. Evolution, as any science, is not to be swallowed, but studied.
"Oh no! This simple, shallow graphic has challenged my worldviews and has caused me to think that fundamental Christianity is more valid than any other religion and makes more sense than biology, geography, archaeology, astronomy, and other sciences!"
..Do they really think that that will happen? Do they honestly think that making a picture like this will actually do anything? This is ridiculous...
Well... yeah, but that kind of counts for every book you'd swallow.
LOL I just noticed how the skulls evolve. That's very ironic!
Yep, swallowing Origin of the Species is hazardous for your health - true for the Oxford English Dictionary, Harry Potter and the Gutenberg Bible. Reading books is more healthful than attempting to swallow whole with a glass of water.
In a sense, these cartoons and pics are good. Whenever some well-meaning Christian links to AiG and says that there's some good and thoughful ideas there that should be considered, you just need to show them the cartoons to make them see what a propaganda site it really is.
AiG might think that these are clever, but it makes the site look less than serious.

Well, Jackoff Chick has made a career out of it, so....
To be fair, I don't believe in what they "think" evolution means either (crocoduck nonsense). The actual Theory of Evolution as defined by science, on the other hand, I accept as a fact.
What do you want to bet that AiG thinks this is a proper rebuttal?
Or if you are not the betting type...
Fundies: Bringing you bad cartoons in the tradition of "Lying for Jesus!".

I wonder how, exactly, the people behind this website square what they knowingly do with the ninth commandment?
Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits famously wrote in his 'Spiritual Exercises':
“That we may be altogether of the same mind and in conformity with the Church herself, if she shall have defined anything to be black which appears to our eyes to be white, we ought in like manner to pronounce it to be black. For we must undoubtingly believe, that the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of the Orthodox Church His Spouse, by which Spirit we are governed and directed to Salvation, is the same...”
Nothing changes.
Ok, another idea for a picture:
In front there is Bible and behind that is a row of human heads, all same size but partly transparent, and the brain size goes smaller gradually inside their skulls.
And some text added.
Anyone with art skills wants to create (lol) it?
Mark 16:18 - "and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all"
So what is the problem here? Poison doesnt harm true christians. Go learn about evolution. It cant hurt, according to the bible.

Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" once made a fundie (Jesse Kilgore) commit suicide/'Rapture' himself/become an hero after he read it (one down, several million to go! >:D ). Thus is said book & it's author considered toxic in the Bible Belt states (just ask Ted Faggard). I wonder what'd happen if fundies cracked open Dawkins' latest tome?:

Surgeon generals warning: monotheism causes brain damage, lack of thinking and reasoning skills, and a desire to eradicate the education system. Not suitable for small children, teenagers, adults, people with disabilities, and the elderly.

Well, a quick Google search reveals that this is just propaganda from the Discovery Institute and related channels.
Methinks it is far more likely that he killed himself because he had realized that his fundie family and friends would never have accepted him changing his beliefs. The community he was living in had brainwashed him into believing that atheists were evil and deserved to die, so he went into a wood and ended his life.
Seriously, how could Dawkins' book make anyone commit suicide? The whole premise of his philosophy is that life has an inherent value.
@demodocos
Ah, right. Still, it was Jesse's fault for not thinking for himself. He could've always told said 'family' where to stick their 'beliefs'. I could've disowned my family when I realised that the chocolate eggs I received at Easter, money for the loose tooth, and toys at Xmas weren't from the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy & Father Christmas respectively, but from my parents, family & friends; the betrayal could've driven me suicidal. But it didn't.
The moral of this story, kiddies? Grow a thicker skin. It repels the slings & arrows of outrageous fortune. And what people think about you .
Confused?
