“This is the final nail as now anything goes in defining deviancy down”
Hmmm. Ten years ago?
I hope you’re talking about Zimmerman being acquitted, but i fear you mean the same-sex marriage decision.
“and God will not be mocked...”
This isn’t mocking god. This is a secular country, founded for secular purposes on secular lines. God’s laws are not our laws. There’s just no secular reason to deny marriage rights to a significant number of our citizens.
Also, God’s been being mocked since 1959, at least, when the Rawhide character, Jesus, was spelled ‘Hay-Soos’ in the credits.
Or maybe that was just mocking everyone who would get upset at a show portraying a Mexican character with a common Mexican name and standard spelling.
And mocked again twenty years later when Maude sponsored a kid named Jesus. Her friend asked her how ‘hey-soos’ was spelled and she said, “Jay-eee-ess-you-ess.”
And he said, “Good Lord, That’s Jesus!”
“if he doesn't bring terrible judgment upon the heads of Americans then God owes Sodom and Gomorrah a huge apology.”
Well, he does owe them an apology.
I really don’t understand why the Christain God would kill anyone. We’re all going to die, and we’re all going to be judged on our sins, and we’ll all be sent to Hell if we deserved it, right?
SO if everyone in (or 99.9999% of) Sodom is hell-bent for inhospitality, then what is gained by cutting them down before they have a chance to repent?
I mean, really, if Dahmer had a chance to reflect on his crimes, and repent, but all of S&G just woke up one day in line, with the guy at the front saying ‘Ah, but i MEANT to go to Synagogue! Tomorrow! First thing! But now i can’t!” … Well, that would be grossly unfair.
