Zimmerman wields the sword of death and retribution with one hand and in with the other he reaches out to pulls out those who would otherwise die, to give them another shot at the eternal salvation of God. His place in the pantheon of humanity up above who have shown heroic capabilities above the norm, and work God’s Will is secure.

I'm at a loss for words here. Without getting into the whole "was Zimmerman guilty or not" debate, I just don't understand how someone can take an incident that was not motivated at all by religion and somehow turn it into a religious rallying cry. Whether he is guilty or not, the fact is he took a life and somehow that makes him worthy of being a religious hero? I don't get it.
@arctic knight
Christians will find anything, literally anything, as a rallying point. Especially ones that happen during tragic events. I remember there was this one girl from the Columbine shootings they tried to beatify, as, according to the story, she maintained her belief in god in the face of her death.
It didn't happen that way of course, but that didn't stop Christians from using it as an example of persecution and making the wrong woman a saint.
Christians *need* to be persecuted. It's that simple.
@ MadmanJohnson
He probably meant "feel" persecuted. A lot of people, not just the religious, get off on the idea they stand strong against a hellbent horde out to get them.
At least I hope that's what he meant.
Madman Johnson - I think he was referring to a psychological need of extremists to FEEL they are persecuted, to justify their atrocious behavior. He wasn't really saying that "we need to persecute Christians".
For clarity, maybe DoomCup should have said "Fundy Christians need to FEEL persecuted".
Zimmerman wields the sword of death and retribution...
I thought it was a gun.

Uh, the kid died & I doubt he would have a shot at babblin' "The Sinner's Prayer". You make absolutely no sense. You must have flunked English class, BAD!
EDIT: I get it. OP is referring to the possibly hoaxed truck-rescue thing. I feel stupid.
His place in the pantheon of humanity up above who have shown heroic capabilities above the norm, and work God’s Will is secure.
So, according to you, Martin Luther King Jr., Mohandas Ghandi, Jonas Salk, Nikola Tesla, Florence Nightingale, St. Francis Of Assisi & The Freedom Riders are bathroom tile scum but this Zimmerman guy is, like, God or something!
What a jerk.
The way this is written makes me imagine stained glass windows and icons of Zimmerman, what the utter hell? If there is a hell, Zimmerman will be there for violating the Sixth Commandment, THOU SHALT NOT KILL.
What the ever loving fuck. Okay, even though I disagree with it, I can understand people supporting the verdict.
But elevating Zimmerman to heroic levels? No matter how you slice it, he shot an innocent child, which he profiled, then proceeded to stalk. Whether or not he's guilty or murder, man slaughter, or wrongful death does not change that fact. He may not be a villain, but at the same time he certainly is not a hero.
I happen to be pro-gun, a supporter of castle doctrine and, to a limited extent, a supporter of stand your ground laws. That being said, I cannot see any justification for stalking, confronting, and killing some kid for walking past my house. That goes far outside standing ones ground in my opinion. That is looking for a fight, and that is wrong. I know that my guns can kill a human being, but it is my sincere hope that none of them ever do. Regardless of the verdict, as far as I'm concerned Zimmerman is a murderer. This attempt to canonize him is disgusting.
What in the Hell is this?!
Zimmerman is not some saint, he's a mortal man who has done very good (saving people out of a wrecked vehicle) and very bad (shooting a 17 year old to death during a scuffle) things.
I really question why you thought what Zimmerman did to Trayvon was perfectly OK when there were plenty of better options that Zimmerman could have done.
For example, instead of him getting super suspicious and automatically assume the worst about a teenager he didn't recognize from the neighborhood, why didn't Zimmerman just call out from his car to Trayvon asking if he was lost or better needing a ride somewhere since it was raining that fateful night (and it raining being a good reason to wear the hood portion of a hoody up)?
I know that there are dangerous people out there, and according to police reports, there were a recent rash of robberies that took place in the gated community. However, if you are doing neighborhood watch, you need to have a level head.
Anyway, back to Symeandsays, I think you need to stop thinking politically and start thinking more objectively.

"He may have been forced to kill to defend himself or not, but he is not a hero. Hero's don't go looking for trouble to prove how tough they are."
I fully agree with this person. While I agree that Zimmerman's acquittal on self-defense grounds was the correct verdict (hell, IMO, there shouldn't even have been a trial), I also agree that the simple act of self-defense does not make someone a hero. I also agree with Arctic Knight, in that it definitely DOESN'T make Zimmerman some religious crusader.
But by God, I think you mean....Khorne. For Khorne cares not where the blood flows from, only that it flows.George Zimmerman will ascend to Warmaster of the legions of Chaos when he finally dies and will destroy all who oppose(Even that pesky God-Emperor) our dark lord Khorne. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
Why is someone trying to elevate Zimmerman to sainthood for killing a kid? This whole case was a legal testing of the stand your ground law, an invention of far Right-Wing politics symptom of far Right wing paranoia. The Blaze is far Right-wing propaganda and, here's how the religion always come in on any far right agenda, they're tools of far-right politics and will always join the cause of any far-right agendas.
Partly because it supports their theocratic agenda but mostly, I believe, because the Right-wing states are funneling taxpayers money into the churchs, religious charter schools and far-right media.
I'm guessing this a Poe based on this person's other comments .
Examples:
"I’m going to trans-fats of saturated fats all day long and I’m not about to let some liberal stop me and I’m not about to let them ban them from my diet. If anybody knows about this kind of diet, Rush does. The liberals want to force us to eat some vegetarian diet and are trying to legislate that we eat like they do, claiming it’s “for our own good” or “to extend our lives.” I’ll tell you one thing the libs aren’t never going to prevent me from eating trans-fats or meat! Or salt either. Even if they pass legislation banning salt and eating meat or trans-fats or Crisco or bacon or whatever, I WILL NOT COMPLY."
"We’re in that position now, and thankfully the House is utterly deadlocked and unable to pass any bill except defunding Obamacare, but let’s firm it up and for sure no law will be passed for the next ten years and totally shut down the government for a generation!"
"Well first of all, I’m sure you’ll all agree with an employers right to fire an employee. That’s the bedrock of our conservative and libertarian view of employment law."
"Glenn and Cruz both compare Obama to Hitler and Democrats to terrorists and Nazis as a matter of routine. But when they do that it’s okay because they are correct, and their analogy holds water. But when a liberal tries the same thing, either because they are ignorant or willfully telling lies, that’s a different story obviously. The truth is, as Glenn has said, President Obama IS like Hitler and Stalin. To say that’s ridiculous is a flat out blasphemy. Heresy. Obama is a communist like Hitler."
"a libertarian fan of Rush Limbaugh, Ayn Rand and Tolstoy."
One of these things don't belong. Another reason to suspect it's a Poe.

Symeandsays refers in particular to mid-career Tolstoy, so there is somewhat less reason. Furthermore, Christian anarchism and Christian libertarianism are not that far apart. It seems perfectly natural that someone of those views would be posting on The Blaze. "Eureka" in this instance turns out to be somewhat more like "Nevermore" quothed by a jaguar, not a raven.
Hasan,
Here's another comment by Symeandsays ,
"The only plot here is a plot by Obama to destroy our country. He’s a Muslim and want’s Americans to die like all Muslims do. If there’s a plot Obama is probably behind it. I read somewhere that Obama is giving the Muslims millions or billions to help them attack and kill Americans because he’s a Muslim too and wants Americans to die. Obama is a communist too which also make him want to kill Americans. He’s a communist Muslim, and all he wants is to see American blood spilled and that’s why he’s ramming Obamacare down our throats, which is something that kills old people and retarded children like Hitler did. And Jews too. Obamacare is going to kill jews if you read the fine print. He ain’t nothin but evil and wants to kill whites and jews and children and anybody except Muslims who believe in sharia law. He just wants to see people get killed that disagree with him like Jews just like Hitler and Stalin and stuff."
It's too much. I can't believe this is real, but it's totally possible an irrational belief in humanity is influencing my judgement. :)
Confused?
