Maybe not, but using aborted fetal tissue is only ONE of the MANY things wrong with vaccines. I agree with everything Vince stated, and more. Vaccines are unhealthy and whats more is that all the diseases that they supposedly eradicated were actually eradicated by better hygiene, not vaccines.

And the sources are?. Besides, a vaccine is a weakened virus used as a way to be identified and sought later on by the inmunological system. The closest relationship with abortions they could have it's that it could be tested in foetus but, again, it makes no sense.

This is a wonderful line of thinking if we want all the fundies to wipe themselves out and remove this blight from the earth. I figure about three generations of this nonsense and they'll all be gone from disease. Of course the one's left will claim it's rapture related, but still the world's general IQ will raise and prejudice level will drop. Now if we can only convince all Moslem fundies to do the same.

In 1882, Pasteur conducted a public test in which 25 sheep were given a vaccination for anthrax. 25 more sheep weren't. Then all 50 were infected with anthrax. All 25 vaccinated sheep lived, and all 25 unvaccinated sheep died within days. I guess Katy-Anne thinks that was just a coincidence.

Also, she really needs to get her children vaccinated. It's vital for their health, and the health of others around them. Not doing so, I believe, is in fact abusive. Oh but wait. If a easily-avoidable disease hits and kills them, they'll just go to heaven, so...
What the Hell is it with all these fundies that makes them so friggin' paranoid? This is hardly the first time I've heard this line of bullshit. Radio reverends are always yapping about the "poison pin" of vaccines, that they cause autism (long since debunked) and the money-grubbing doctors don't want to cure us but keep us sick to make money off us. On the contrary, vaccines and herd immunity are the most cost-effective way of promoting health.

If diseases are wiped out solely by hygiene, then why hasn't the common cold been eradicated while much more dangerous diseases die out?

The Immunizations labs are literally close enough to my office that, were this stupid wall not in the way, I could throw a paper airplane and hit a lab tech in the head.
That being said, everyone in my building says you're wrong and should take your kids to Child Services immediately.
Ah....no. There are SOME that have been lessened by more hygenic behavior, or some things like that, but by and large, regular access to vaccines is the primary reason that many diseases have been eradicated.

this is partially true but it is a gross oversimplification and most of the big diseases (polio, measeles, mumps, and others) have been brought to extremely low levels due almost entirely to vaccination.

most vaccines are quite helpful to you as it's like getting that disease, only it's a pathetic weakling shadow of said disease so your immune system can kick it's ass easily and gains the knowledge of fighting it in case of future encounters with a legitimate copy of the disease.
While you totally didn't mean it, I'd agree that some vaccines are unhealthy. There's no logical reason to vaccinate against, say, chicken pox, which is now standard practice in the USA.

I knew someone like that! she spread whooping cough through several schools and offices because of it (indirectly, but if she'd vaccinated her baby it wouldn't have happened.) the baby was sick for months. she was lucky really, because it didn't get something more dangerous...

That is not what would happen. Herd immunity would fail, and everybody who couldn't be vaccinated or whose vaccination didn't take would get sick.
This is what really bothers me about people refusing vaccination - they aren't just hurting themselves. Not getting a flu shot is equivalent to taking a one-in-five-hundred chance of giving someone a fatal infection.
