I haven't followed many developments in opera lately, but I didn't know that transgendered people have taken over the role that castrated boys use to have. I'm also unaware that being a transwoman gives you a voice like said castrated boys, I thought that transwomen just sounded like women.

Even though that itself wouldn't imply that transgender folks aren't sexist, I highly doubt that there is this type of pervasive sexist undercurrent in the trans community.
God, what absolute stereotypical bullshit. Not all trans women are femme and not all trans men are butch. They're just ordinary women and ordinary men who are way less about destroying other people's ways of life than reactionary crybabies like to think. It's so stupid to hate someone that shares your interests just because of the way their genitals line up with their brain. I'm a trans man and I certainly don't feel any need to overcompensate by hiding my not-traditionally-male hobbies under smothering blobs of machismo. Most transgender people don't because most transgender people aren't cuckoo bananas like MasterAmazon over here.
A small minority of trannies are sincere but deeply confused homosexual males. Due to the combination of their own delusions/fetishes, the rigid gender roles enforced by patriarchy and the for profit medical establishment, they are tricked into mutilating themselves rather than accepting the fact that they are just "effeminate" (not conforming to patriarchal gender roles) males.
The vast majority, however, are male predators who disguise themselves as women in order to access women born women spaces and rape and assault women.

Why so much hatred? If a transgendered person lives as a woman and identifies as a woman, I take her word for it that she's a woman. She's part of the 'sisterhood', just like every other woman. I take that same word of FTMs.
They don't do it to compromise anything, and in the process of becoming their authentic selves they deal with a lot of nastiness, discrimination, rejection and ugly stares from people who either don't understand or who use their religion to justify their inhuman behavior. Does anyone actually believe that a person would put themselves through this struggle just to have access to women they want to rape?
