2. No, they do not hate the opposite sex, they are not attracted to the opposite sex. If anyone 'hates' a gender that really doesn't have anything to do with attraction.

And, once again, a failure to understand the crucial reason why discrimination is wrong: it doesn't matter if gays in general are bad parents (which is highly suspect). Those who are bad parents shouldn't be allowed to adopt anyway, and those who are good parents shouldn't be prevented from being parents just because they happen to belong to the same subgroup.
Let it happen. As long as they harm none, let people do what they will. And saying that a group tends to do harm does not mean that each individual will do the same--withhold only from those individuals who would harm, not the group.

Actually, I get the feeling that a lot of gay guys are affectionate toward women, and lesbians toward men. That may be a really generalized stereotype, but it's what I've observed. After all, gay guys make a girl's best friends.
