I've read TalkOrigins. It's run by lay people. [Answers In Genesis] is run by actual scientists with accredited Ph.D.s.

The only thing that can be said for AiG is they hate Mr Hovind and also published a page "Arguments Creationists shouldn't use."
Here they are. So if anyone uses these, even Answers in Genesis thinks you're a moron.

Sadly I've seen all but two or three of these used. Starting to think we should submit JohnR7's and RichardT's crap to them to enlarge their list!
Apart from that they're kidding themselves!
Meet the CEOS!
Ken Ham: "In recognition of the contribution Ken has made to the church in the USA and internationally, Ken has been awarded two honorary doctorates: a Doctor of Divinity (1997) from Temple Baptist College in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a Doctor of Literature (2004) from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia." [note: neither are accredited]
Dr. Monty White: "PhD for his research in the field of Gas Kinetics in 1970."
Fair enough then. Gas Kinetics, eh?
The rest of J's post reads:
"Evolution is a religion. Of the six types of evolution, only microevolution has ever been seen. The rest are accepted on faith that they exist. Microevolution is the only "evolution" that can be called science, and microevolution never creates changes within kinds (macroevolution).
I won't be returning to post here again. But please realize that I seek to argue with no one. Christians want people to come to Christ out of their love for other human beings, not hatred or a desire to irritate or argue with them. I pray that everyone come to know the Lord, because He's coming back, whether you believe that's a fairy tale or not. It doesn't change reality."
TalkOrigins is a formidable library of legitimate scientific information, with thousands of both peer-reviewed and lay sources thoroughly documented. Even if it were run by the Three Stooges, that would not undermine its content.
AiG, while it at least tries to avoid the loonier assertions of creationists, still insists on trying to use faith to trump science in scientific fields; that's just asking for a smackdown, and it is sheer bloody-mindedness that they (and those who believe as they do) refuse to recognize that they've long since been smacked down well and thoroughly!
~David D.G.
Ken Ham is less wildly, insanely delusional than Kent Hovind, but he is still wildly, insanely delusional.
Thanks for the info, Phil.
Exactly what is "gas kinetics?" I understand the words, but what is it and how could one have a PhD in it?

Julian, do they actually still expand the list? That wouldn't be a wise policy. Before you know it they will run out of arguments creationists SHOULD use!
You'd think so Crosis wouldn't you.
Basically it's there because new species are forming all the time and this had been proven in studies. They've lost that battle so now they're pretending they never fought it.
Their spin is
No new species have been produced .
This is not truenew species have been observed to form. In fact, rapid speciation is an important part of the creation model. But this speciation is within the “kind,” and involves no new genetic information.
Utter shit! Especially then kinds are actually breeds, and even more specific than species. I can't believe they're still trying to dress up baraminology in a lab coat. (to steal a phrase)
"This is not truenew species have been observed to form. In fact, rapid speciation is an important part of the creation model. But this speciation is within the “kind,” and involves no new genetic information." - AiG
"Of course they're idiots! Still, the question remains, what kind of idiots are they?" - Scott Adams, The Far Side
Redhunter: "immortal soul???" If you can find it, you can have it.
Truth is finite. Bullshit is infinite.
immortal = infinite
Knowledge is more important than credentials. Just ask James Randi or Martin Gardner about their encounters with the "counterculture physicists" of the 70s (like Puthoff and Targ, or the still-active Jack Sarfatti). Or ask a phone monkey at a college help desk what they think of professors who make a big deal out of being PhDs and think a call to the help desk is a compromise of their masculinity (even if they're female).
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
