Imo, D&D [Dungeons & Dragons] is occultic and is used to recruit or seduce young people, both teens and young adults, into satans realm.
Again just my opinoin. But if it doesnt glorify God, you should run from it.

IMGO, D&D does have a whiff of the arcane about it. I mean seriously, why does an RPG need a combat system that complicated? It must be Satan's will that flow of gameplay is disrupted by dice rolls.

.... but computers don't glorify god. In fact, the glorify technology, which glorifies science, which glorifies evolution. Therefore, Mercy4Me is currently supporting science and evolution! Win.
I'm pagan, so I feel like I'm qualified to say that I don't try to induct teens into the faith through D&D. Nobody I know does that. Actually, we don't corral anyone into the faith. Most of the time, they find it by themselves and come to it of their own choice.
Not to say that occultists don't play tabletop RPG's. We just don't use them to market religion.

That old coffee cup on the back floor of my car isn't glorifying god, should I run from it? '
Yes, you should. There's an unidentified life-form growing in it. It has tentacles.
@John_in_Oz
Stupid. When did you ever hear of a D & D player getting seduced?
To quote the on-line comic strip Something Positive : "You don't want kids to have sex, but you don't want them playing Dungeons and Dragons? Isn't that like saying you don't want to them get diseases, but you don't want them to get vaccinated?"
Yes!!!!
I seduced people to the dark side this last weekend. I was the DM even, so I was the instigator of it!!
And the goat we didn't sacrifice... er.. the seance we didn't execute.. Wait.. We just sat around and used our imaginations.
Um.
OH THE HORROR... ?
If your god cannot tell the difference between fantasy and reality, it does not deserve my respect.
If you cannot tell the difference between fantasy and reality, I advise you to see a competent doctor immediately.
" if it doesnt glorify God"
In my whole life that's been nearly everything. Not just me but the world around me. They had a word for this for the last hundred years: Religious fanatics. Today we call you Fundies, American Idiots or brainwashed Tea-Partiers.
Pleeeeease wake the fuck up! This mindset has never been anything but the worst mankind can do
Honestly, if Mercy thinks that d&d is bad, wait until she see the Planescape setting for it. A being above gods? Who is very clear that she (it?) is not a god and does not want to be worshipped? Shocking.
Or how about Nobilis, where you play as gods (ok anthropomorphic personifications of aspect of reality if you want to get technical)? Heretical.
Or how about the World of Darkness, where you can play as vampires, werewolves, warlocks or even *gasp* demons? Oh and God is a brutal and uncaring (if not just outright insane) God-Machine? OH MY GOD TEH OCCULT! IT BURNS!
TL:DR, For the most part d&d is just classic fantasy, good wins and evil gets beaten up and has its stuff nicked. It's not occult, it's not a tool of satanic recruitment, it's just a group of people using their imagination to tell stories. Or is that what you fear? That they might start thinking?
@ReignonYourParade
Puppies don't glorify god. Should we run from them too?
You can't run from a puppy. That's the most fun in the world to a puppy, chasing. Go ahead and stomp your feet at one, see what happens. (You just adopted a pet)
I run from fundies, though...wouldn't want to get bitten by one. {{shudder}}
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
