I also thing you misunderstood separation between church and state. If the very mention of God was wrong then why is God the Author of the Constitution?

You are ignorant of this. Not me. The Author of the constitution of the United states of America, the Author, why do you think Author is capitalized? It is a pronoun. Who do you think the Author according to our founders was? You are so wrong about this. Look it up.

You know, a lot of words are capitalized in the Constitution that wouldn't be nowadays. Are they saying that Senators and Representatives are gods? (I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be capitalized, maybe they should be?)

The founders were the authors, dipshit.
Gouverneur Morris of Pennsylvania was put in charge of the committee to draft the final copy of the Constitution. Other men who had much to do with writing the Constitution included John Dickinson, Gouverneur Morris, Edmund Randolph, Roger Sherman, James Wilson, and George Wythe. Morris was given the task of putting all the convention's resolutions and decisions into polished form. Morris actually "wrote" the Constitution. The original copy of the document is preserved in the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.
Jacob Shallus who, at the time, was assistant clerk of the Pennsylvania State Assembly, and whose office was in the same building in which the Convention was held, was given the task of engrossing the Constitution prior to its being signed.

Well, if "God" is the "Author" of the Constitution, why was it imperfect thus needing an amendment process? Why was it ammended immediately? (Um..Bill of Rights anyone?) Why does it not state that the USA is a Christian nation? Why does it not legislate mandatory Christian faith? Why does it not provide for the punnishment of those who act in a manner contrary to Biblical law? The questions just go on and on and on.
The US Constitution, while a great and admirable document (in many ways more admirable than the Bible), it is not Holy Canon. Never was; never will be.

Author is a noun, to begin with. Second, its authors were twelve earthly guys. Any other questions, or you were already trolling?
At the point in the English language in which the Constitution was written, Capitilization and font were not as regulated as they are Now . That is why sometimes random words appear Capitalized, in italics or bolded in writing from that period. For little reason, other than because it pleased the guy running the PRINTING PRESS .
Nouns were often capitalized (as they still are in modern German).
Regardless of whether God is the author or not, in the U.S., the Supreme Court is the body granted final authority to interpret it. Basically, they've interpreted the First Amendment to mean that the government can't support or favor a particular religion. "Support" means letting government money, property or employees be used in the promotion of a religion.
And this, friends, is why public school, for all its flaws, is occasionally preferable to homeschooling.
That's how people typed these things back in the day. This post is a matter of garbage in (Constitution as divine document, mention of God being wrong altogether), garbage out (this fail of a post).

In Section 8 of the Constitution we find (under the powers of Congress) the power to issue patents and copyrights: "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;" ...
So apparently by Gracebkr's theory, there must be multiple gods, some of whom are authors and others of whom are inventors.

Also, James Madison and his later mentor, Thomas Jefferson, were the biggest of the first few Presidents on church and state separation. Go figure.

Sadly, no, this person argued the entire thread about this. And refused to read copies of the document when links were provided, avoided requests for any sort of proof that "Author" represents any deity, and ignored those that pointed out that "Author" does not even appear in the Constitution.
It was a train wreck, really.
