Native Americans we're killing and eating each other,
just like every other segment of the human race.....the Europeans were just
another tribe, with better technology and organization...who took what the
natives were trying to take from each other for centuries.
"Your whole native Americans own it because they
were there first" crap...is exactly that....crap. Where is it written in your good book of
atheism....or anywhere for that matter, that says because someone steps on a
piece of land first....they magically own it from that point....especially when
you consider we are talking about 500 years ago....or...is that the new...NEW
definition of modern history....starting at 1600...at least for the next five
minutes...

So, there's no reason immigrants can't take the land either, since they're coming to take it from you?
Wait, it's different for you?
Sorry, special pleading, please go die in a fire.
"Native Americans we're killing and eating each other,"
While certain tribes went to war with other tribes, no, they weren't eating each other. Lrn2history

Hey asshole, they were there first before your ancestors pushed them away and killed most of them over land. How would you like it if the Chinese came over here and took over America and killed most of us? Would you justify that? Or it isn't because assholes like yourself are justified to take anything you want and not let anyone get a fair share?
"Native Americans WE'RE killing and eating each other,"
You're informing Native Americans that we are killing each other? Who do you mean by 'we'?
It's WERE, shithead. Learn some fucking basic grammar.
Ahem... "I claim this land in the name of Spain."
If you don't recognize the quote, explaining wouldn't help.
Why do people like that always think they would be on the conquering side and not on the one of the conquered?
It’s the same with slavery apologists. They always seem to think they would be the slave holders instead of the slaves
Kuno, a veterinarian I once knew asserted to me that small male dogs have a serious vision disturbance which makes their potential adversaries appear much smaller, and themselves much larger, than is actually the case.

I think that also applies to small male humans... in certain cases at least!
@Broton:
Yes, but we had quite a few quotes here where people would defend the biblical slavery, especially the “Hebrew owner + Hebrew slave” variant, comparing it to modern welfare systems. And they never imagine themselves in the slave role, always as the owner.
Or do you think that the principle “slave=non-white” is so ingrained into their brain that they cannot conceive any other constellation? If we apply that to this quote it would mean “conquerer=white” and “conquered=non-white” (in JP’s mind). Could be an explanation.
@Reynardine:
That would explain so much.
The Aztecs are the only native indigenous Americans that I can think of that routinely practiced cannibalism. The Indian tribes of North America were vastly different. If you took a look at, say, the Wintu and then the Iruquois Confederacy, it's a vastly different culture. Likewise, comparing North American Indians to Tierra Del Fuegans or Inca and so on is as different as night and day.
And as for the concept of property, we did kind of screw the Indians over repeatedly and often when it came to treaties.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
