A Real American would call the OP an Anti-American slimebag because Real American values are about Immigrants, freedom, tolerance and opportunity for all, regardless of Faith, Non-Faith, Creed, Color, Ethnicity, Gender/Sex, Sexual Orientation, Age, Ability, etc.
Granted; America hasn't lived up to those ideals (Ask any Indigenous American, Black, Asian, Latinx, Woman, LGBTAQ, Muslim, etc.) but those lofty ideals are there and enshrined in The U.S. Constitution (even if the guys who wrote it very varying degrees of hypocritical or only favored rich, white landowners at the time)!
I don't care about the personal lives of the Founders much....What matters are the beautiful, noble, enlightened, egalitarian words and ideals they espoused in the Constitution.
....and some of them did eventually have their slaves freed fully or partially and those who didn't tended to have a weird "quasi-benevolent/paternal" view of their slaves and felt life as a freeperson would be a cutthroat struggle to survive in a dangerous world full of even more monstrous bigots and slave-owners.
Then again; The latter reason could have just been excuses by a few Founders so they wouldn't feel like hypocrites. There's like several different stories and views of Thomas Jefferson that either paint him as....
* ....one of the few kinder, more "Parental" slaveowners who treated their slaves relatively well and who felt freeing them would lead them to a harder life of trying to start over from scratch.
* ....a cruel slaveowner who was no different than the other slaveowners and who was simply a hypocrite.
....I'd love to think it's the former but if it's the latter, he's pure evil....but I still greatly admire his words and genius in writing the U.S. Constitution and being a founder of the Nation.
That said; My fave Founder is Benjamin Franklin. THAT guy was FUN! He was a Founder, great statesman, diplomat, scientist, inventor, journalist, satirist, prankster, fun eccentric, charming colorful Casanova who was a big hit with the ladies and who favored and respected older/experienced gals (both sexually and as people). His "vices" were more of the "silly party animal" kind and he was a genuinely cool, big-hearted good egg.
