Once we accept God’s perspective of sin, we realize that we are totally equal to every other soul on this earth. I can’t afford to look down my nose at the active child molester next door because when I was four years old, I stole a cookie out of the cookie jar after my mother told me not to and then I lied about it. To God, I’m as bad as the molester.

Is this why you try to emulate DJS? Are we really sure that Anna is a DJS sock-puppet? Does DJS suffer from any gender identity issues that we know of?
So, in your seriously F'ed up world view, a 4 y/o stealing a cookie & lying (what happened to that who xtian age issue?) is the same as a kiddy diddler?
You know - if you feel the need to be punished - there are plenty of BDSM sites on the webz. Log on, post your punishment fantasy & wait for the right dom to come along.
Yet I'd give you a pass on the cookie incident.
Why? I don't know. I think it may have something to do with the fact that no one got hurt, it's just a cookie and a fib regarding said cookie and then there's the fact that you were four fucking years old .
If that one small incident put you on the fast train to hell, your god is a megalomaniacal asshole with no concept of major and minor. Perhaps he should have sent a few she-bears to teach you a lesson about respect? Would you have preferred that?
In short, as I have been saying for years, he is unworthy of worship.
To humans however, the molester is much worse than the cookie thief. Child molestation harms children, and infringes on their human rights. Cookie theft by children harms no-one, really, and infringes on no-one's human rights.
You shouldn't look down your nose at him/her, you ought to report him/her to the authorities, so that humans (apparently with superior moral than God) can put his ass in jail where he can't molest any more children.
This is one piss poor excuse for a God.
Try worshipping Cthulhu instead, at least he's honest about just being evil and not caring about humanity.
While it is true we are all human, there is a HUGE difference between committing a violating and demeaning act to someone who can't understand what's going on, and an small act of theft done by a child. Really, in the grandscale of it, taking a cookie out of the cookie jar compared to rape is WORLDS apart. >.<
Technically, she's right. In fact, if the paedophile asked for forgiveness, he'd get off (no pun intended) while the child who lies and doesn't ask for forgiveness will be cast off into the lake of fire. That there summarises Christianity and why I couldn't be Christian even if I weren't a gay man.
There's only one unforgivable sin, and that seems to be either apostasy or blasphemy or simply denying the existence of God. All others can be forgiven. Which begs the question, why is the unforgivable one to do with worshipping God while the forgivable ones are about monsters who destroy lives? Is the Christian God truly that pathetically weak and self conscious?
I hope you have alerted the authorities to the active child molester in your neighbourhood, otherwise you will have something else to answer for come Judgement Day.
This is the danger wrought by believing that all sins are equal. It twists the mind so that a minor misdemeanor as a child is seen as severe as a major crime, and the person, in this case Anna, loses all sense of perspective. It's little wonder that Anna doesn't focus her attention on serious issues, and instead gives attention to non-issues when portraying her sadistic God's character.
You stole a cookie because you were fucking four years old and had not yet learned that stealing things is bad. You lied about it because, again, you were four years old, and didn't want to admit you did something wrong.
There is no fucking way possible any sane person would ever seriously consider that as bad as a person who actively harms minors trying to get his rocks off and gives zero fucks about their well-being or human rights. Any supernatural being who does consider the two equal is not worthy of worship.
Then your God is lazy - He can't be bothered to have priorities. Besides, your view is contrary to the Bible, where there are clearly varying degrees of punishment for various offenses. Eating road-kill requires you to wash your clothes and bathe, and be considered "unclean" until the evening, while working on the Sabbath or having sex with your mother-in-law requires you to be stoned to death.
@Skybison: I thought Cthulhu WASN'T a god, though, but rather Yog-Sothoth's high priest.
As to Diehl's actual work...On the rest of the post, she flat-out says that God won't accept anything short of absolute perfection/purity. Apparently, the way Jesus works is that his influence keeps sin from sticking to one's soul. One analogy she used was a glass of water, with sin being an opaque black dye that will leave the whole glass pure black whether one drop, one teaspoon, or one liter was used. Another was the soul as a sheet of white paper, which must be utterly unmarked for God to accept it in light of his holiness (which comprises...what, exactly?). Sin nature is our impulse to keep scribbling on the paper--and even one tiny mark leaves the whole thing unacceptable. Jesus is here likened to putting a cap on the pen, so the scribbling goes on without inking the paper at all. (Apparently, ETCHING the paper doesn't get commented upon.)
I wish I understood why pristinity keeps getting brought up as God's main concern. I know I've thought that Cheung et al. seem to think God created everything just to be pure mirrors to reflect his glory back to himself, but...
Any pray tell, why is it that I should accept your deity perspective, instead of my own? Cause he`s the biggest, so he`s da boss?
Sorry, it only works when said boss can be in any way or form proven to exist in the first place, and even then only as to make the prick a target to be executed and his nice little traitorous sycophants to be tought a lesson, that might does never make right.
However, he can sin like, for example, lying. So, what "perspective" are you talking about?
@Skide
I'm da hand of Gork and Mork, dey sent me to rouse up da boyz to crush and kill cos da boyz forgot what dere ere for. I woz one of da boyz till da godz smashed me in da ead an’ I membered dat Orks is meant to conquer and make slaves of everyfing they don’t kill.
I’m da profit of da Waaagh an’ whole worlds burn in my boot prints. On Armour-Geddem, I led da boyz through da fire deserts and smashed da humies’ metal cities to scrap. I fought Yarik, old one-eye at Tarturus, an’ he fought good but we smashed iz city too.
I’m death to anyfing dat walks or crawls, where I go nothin’ stands in my way. We crushed da stunties on Golgotha, an’ we caught old one-eye when da speed freeks blew da humies’ big tanks ta bits. I let im go cause good enemies iz ard to find, an Orks need enemies ta fight like they need meat ta eat an’ grog ta drink.
I iz more cunnin’ than a grot an’ more killy than a dread, da boyz dat follow me can’t be beat. On Pissenah we jumped da marine-boyz an’ our bosspoles was covered in da helmets we took from da dead uns. We burned dere port an’ killed dere bosses an’ left nothin’ but ruins behind. I’m Warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka an’ I speak wiv da word of da gods. We iz gonna stomp da ooniverse flat an’ kill anyfing that fights back. We iz gonna do this coz’ we’re Orks an’ we was made ta fight an’ win!
“To God, I’m as bad as the molester.”
So, ’God’s Perspective On Sin’ is that all sins are equal. AND he saddled all of us with Woman’s sin from the Garden.
So, when you idiots say that a hurricane is god sending a message that we should not tolerate gays, or allow banks to charge interest, or elect Democrats, or read porn, y’all are just fucked in the head. There’s no difference, to God, between the rapist, the abortionist, the victim, the preborn… All are sinful sinners and there’s nothing to distinguish any of them from God’s perspective. So why in the fuck would he pick one sin to visit extra wrath upon?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
