As the world gets more complex, I have no problem that my offspring know more than I do. That presents a good case for evolution.

I feel sad for your children. Honestly, give your God some goddamn credit. If I were indeed all powerful, and creating life. I would have invented a system that perpetually improves upon itself so I do not have to baby sit it every step of the way.

There may not be a Demonic Association of Really Wicked Intellectual Nazis who jam evolutionary theory down people's throats against their will, but there should be. I really wouldn't mind if Ruth had studiously read up on evolution at her local library before saying "Naaaah, that doesn't make sense." But we all know she hasn't, and that she doesn't know a thing about what she's opposing.
She's actually giving her children the opposite of an education by making them more ignorant than they would have been if they had been left to learn about the world on their own.
When you're literally giving your children an intellectual handicap with your parenting, that's when it's time to take steps, surely?

1) God created the heavens (didn't realise there was more than one - is there one for poor people which is a sort of economy heaven?).

I don't get this whole Home Ed thing, AFAIK it's almost unknown in Europe. Surely the whole point of education is to expose your kids to new, different things, other points of view, people who know a whole lot about a whole range of different subjects, to have social interaction with people from other cultures etc, etc.
If you educate your child yourself the most you can teach them is what you know yourself, and it'll almost certainly be much less than that. In that case every generation must get dumber.

@solomongrundy: Actually home schooling can work just as well as mainstream education... some circumstances main stream schooling is almost impossible to reach (which is sometimes the case here in OZ...) its just that people abuse the system to teach their own agenda... i think there should be a very VERY strict monitoring of home schooled kids and their parents.
and at RUTH: this is child abuse... some one should go over there and take those kids to a school and force you to let them under court orders. I'm kinda muffled that this is happening in NZ... its too close to my secular shores!!!
They never have to learn it...or much of anything else.
I, on the other hand, wanted my children to be better educated than I was, and my children want my grandchildren to be better educated than they were. That's what parents do for their children.
