Buddha was a guy from india, that's why he has a dot in the middle of his forehead. AND that dot is suppose to symbolize the "third eye."
The third eye is a little masonic thing... But Buddha probably didn't know about the connections linked with masonry.

Uh... despite Masonic legend to the contrary, Freemasonry didn't exist until the late Middle Ages at the earliest. And the only truly destructive conspiracy to come out of the Masons, Propaganda Due, was ejected from the Mason community by the other lodges for being assholes.

No, actually it symbolizes the second nose.
The second nose is a little masonic thing, but you probably aren't high enough up the hierarchy to know about that ;--)
Actually, very few Indians are Buddhists. Most Buddhists are to be found in China, Japan, and (I think) Tibet. Most Indians are Hindus, Muslims or Christians (I'd love to see DevonR's head exploding when s/he learns that).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the bindi (the "dot in the middle of [the] forehead") meant to signify one is married, in the same way a wedding ring is?

As many Hindus believe Jesus was an avatar of God you might argue that Hindus are a sect of Christians anyway. That might make DevonR's head explode.
I agree, the Buddha didn't know about Freemasonry...because he died around 400 BCE. Freemasonry dates from around 1630 AD, according to Wikipedia. Christ on a crippled crutch, learn some fucking history.
No, he probably didn't, because the Masons have only been around, what, 1000 years? I'm not sure. But Buddhism stared in the 5th century BCE, so I think he outdates the Masons...

Of course he didn't................because masonic lodges didn't exist until more than nineteen centuries after his death. And the dot in the forehead is the typical Indian Betty, not a "third eye"
That's "bindhi," not "Betty." Otherwise, you're almost spot on.
Freemasonry started in Scotland.
Buddhism started in India.
Of course those countries are so close to each other.
Confused?
