According to Recovering Grace, ATI’s Counseling Seminar curriculum also includes a handout on “Counseling Sexual Abuse,” which examines the many ways that a victim could have brought abuse on him or herself by “defrauding” God: Did you dress immodestly? Were you, perhaps, associating with “evil” friends? You should consider whether you’re guilty and apologize to God.

For not reporting it? (See Deutronomy 22:22 - 24.) Failing to report it allows others to also be abused.
So not only is it the victim's fault for their abuse, they're to blame for it happening to other victims? What a hideous document.
A guide to making your own Anna Diehl.
If this is used as actual therapy by people who are supposed to be credible professionals trusted with the physical and mental wellbeing of their patients I am going to freak in the worst way.
Gothard's the one with a thing for teenage girls with long curly hair, isn't he? The one who had to resign after dozens of women complained about sexual harassment from him? The one who was accused of burying child sexual assault cases?
Of course he blames his victims. Fundies never take responsibility for their actions.

Is this guy for real? Why would he pass all of the blame for sexual abuse onto the victim? The way Ibuki sees it, the blame should go to the perpetrator , since they're the one who committed the act in the first place! The victim requires comfort and support, not an accusatory finger being shoved in their face!
And Bill-chan runs an "Institute of Homeschooling"? As in, parents go to this guy to teach their kids? Why would anyone trust a guy who thinks that sexual assault is the fault of the victim with their kids? Shouldn't that set off some sort of parental sensor in their minds telling them that he is not to be trusted?
The delusion of religion:
There's no such thing as evil; but if there is, it was your own fault; but if it wasn't, then God let it happen to test your faith; but if He didn't, just shut up and endure it and it'll be better after you die.
So basically the abuser, rapist, whatever, was doing God's will, unlike the victim, and should be praised and given a medal. That's at least what it sounds like.
You sick, dirty, vile motherfucker. I hope your kids leave home and never speak to you thereafter. You are a sick fuck.
Ibuki Mioda: Right you are. The blame does all rest with the perpetrator.
You're also correct in thinking alarms should be going off in the minds of the parents. Sadly, the type of people who would support this man's teachings have long been without the common sense that would trigger said alarms.
Because christianity.
From wickypedia....
"On February 27, 2014 the Board of Directors of the Institute in Basic Life Principles placed Gothard on indefinite administrative leave while it investigated claims that he sexually harassed and molested several female employees. The claims had been publicized on Recovering Grace, a website, Christian ministry, and support group for former followers of Gothard's teachings. As many as 34 women who worked for Gothard claim that he harassed them; four claim that he molested them, and one of the accusers claims that Gothard molested her when she was 16 years old."
EDIT:
Also, he's a creepy looking bastard!
"Forgive offender"
DIAF plz
So the guy who said:
“Counseling Sexual Abuse,” which examines the many ways that a victim could have brought abuse on him or herself by “defrauding” God: Did you dress immodestly? Were you, perhaps, associating with “evil” friends?"
Is the same guy that
"As many as 34 women claim that he harassed them; four claim that he molested them, and one of the accusers claims that Gothard molested her when she was 16 years old."

Wow, this is actually really disturbing. I don't even have a snarky Lovecraft reference or even a comic link to drop here. Just shocked numbness that will eventually boil into rage.
What the hell is WRONG with people?!
It is deeply disturbing you suggest God let someone get raped for having an "indecent dress" or "exposure" or for having "evil friends," and it is deeply disgusting guilt could be imputed in some cases and that physocal abuse is better than "being mighty in Spirit."
And this is even more disgusting, considerating the author admitted to behaved in a "inappropriate manner" on followers.
EDIT: (5/25) Added last line.
Confused?
