Great point on the connection between addiction and defensive, incoherent rage. That rage is characteristic in a new way with the entire public Left. When I was young, the real screaming vitriol was the old stuff from the pre-World War II labor agitators. From the 50s, 60s, and 70s, you can find Leftist essays that are fairly literate and urbane, contain no slang or curse words, and make sequential arguments, however misguided.
No more. Is there an addiction to some sin endemic to the Left that inspires this circling of the wagons? Perhaps Red rage is connected to personal dependence on abortion, contraception, drugs, and adultery. And perhaps by the despair that one is not God, and the fear that God is. What do you think?

What do I think?
I think you're an idiot.
Glenn Beck. Erik Rush.
Models of coherence.

Too bad that you didn't pay any attention to Fr Charles Coughlin or the German American Bund.

You can also find them from the 30s and today, but I don't suppose you'd want to look that hard. OTOH, if it's period screaming vitriol you want, look no further than John Birch Society.
What do you think?
You need to get out more and look at the world from someone else's point of view.
Real screaming incoherent rage? Bub, if you think a union negotiator is the height of rage, you ain't seen nothing yet. And yes, I mean that literily. This BS is nothing more cliches and banalities picked up from reading RW BS. Come on, read a fucking book already!
Yup, there's an addiction endemic to the Left; the fight for equal rights for everyone!
No, we are no more dependent on abortions, contraceptions, drugs or adultery, than anyone else.
Abortions and contraceptions are important for social health issues, and have always been around in some form of other, since the first proto-human realized that some plants prevent impregnation and other plants dislodge implanted embryos. Drugs? Do you mean like coffee and sugar? Those are two of the most dangerous drugs around.
Adultery is only bad when there's a victim in the mix; a hurt husband/boyfriend or wife/girlfriend. Two people having consensual sex while not being involved with someone else harms no-one.
I have as much fear of God as I have of the tooth-fairy, and as much despair that I'm not the tooth-fairy as I have that I'm not God.
I think that you've spent way too much time brooding on this subject.

Kind of like how the right's addiction to guns, war, and he Bible leads to their constant incoherent rage fits? Huh, I guess you've got a point.
Scot, when you were young, talkies were a novelty.
You don't want to know what I think, Scot. What I think would make you weep & curl up in the fetal position, rocking back & forth while whimpering.
what do i think? i'm imagining you saying this to me, and i'm imagining your mouth is an asshole, and this shit your saying is actual shit falling out of your asshole mouth.
no joke, that's honestly what i was thinking when i got to the end.
personal dependence on abortion, lol.
As a left-wing male, how exactly am I or could I be dependent on abortion?
Oh, the Left has "defensive, incoherent rage?" Jesus H. Christ, man, have you ever been on a right-wing internet forum, or even the comments section on something like Fox News's website? Too old for the Interwebz? Just turn to your local right-wing talk radio, there's your defensive, incoherant rage.
To make sequential arguments is good as opossed to slippery slope dumb guy nonsense. Surprized a Righty like you got that.
The agenda of the liberal left has been around since the 60s, we havent seen a far-right like todays since the 50s or the deep South or good old boys like Adolf.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
