It strikes me you don't give a darn about the rule of law, Winston Jen. You celebrate "underground" euthanasia and people defying the law.
If society, in its democratic wisdom, doesn't legalize assisted suicide, that law should be respected and obeyed. When it is violated, it should be enforced. Or, do you believe in underground bank robbery, too?

An unjust law should not be obeyed just because it is the law.

Bank robbery is a crime because it tramples the rights of others. Euthanasia does not. The analogy, as usual, fails.
Peaceful protests HAVE NOT WORKED in Australia for over two decades.
I know this would probably come off as "Fundie", but...
If I become a quadraplegic, I'll consider biting Wesley's throat out. ;)
If I become terminally ill, I'll consider committing suicide by cop and taking out 1000 pro-lifers. After all, DEAD PEOPLE CANNOT VOTE.
Thanks, Angel.
Also, a group of people with Motor Neurone Disease in Australia have decided to break the law by helping each other die. The ones who can still move their arms will help those who cannot.

Good point, NotMe, but if pro-lifers won't respect the rights of the terminally ill, why should the terminally ill respect the rights of the pro-lifers?
Turnabout is fair play. The Religious Right believes in the death penalty and "an eye for an eye", so they'd be hypocrites to oppose voluntary euthanasia.

No, killing someone is only acceptable if they have done something "wrong."
It strikes me you don't give a darn about the rule of law, Sojourner Truth. You celebrate "underground" railway and people defying the law.
If society, in its democratic wisdom, legalizes slavery, that law should be respected and obeyed. When it is violated, it should be enforced.
I'd just like to see Wesley come up with a response to this:
"If you were in the WTC on 9/11, would you try and stop people jumping out of the windows? If so, why? If not, then aren't you admitting that suicide is rational under certain circumstances?"

Motor-Neuro Disorder is much sexier in America. Here, we call it "Lou Gehrig's Disease". (Or, sometimes, "What that wheelchair black hole guy has".)
Not all laws are fair or just. Many of them have been changed over the years when people finally figured out that minorities and woman are people, dynamite shouldn't be sold in hardware stores, and that people will kill each other to obtain booze.
And what exactly is an 'underground bank'?

<< Why is this fundie???
Anyone? can you tell me? >>
It is fundie because the poster cannot tell the difference between robbery of assets, against the express interests of the people to whom they belong, and assistance in voluntarily and willingly giving up a life, in the express interests of the person to whom it belongs and who wants to give it up.
The poster is claiming that just because both are illegal, they are inherently comparable, when in fact they are worlds apart morally; just because there is a law against something does not necessarily mean that it is a good law or that the thing it proscribes is automatically always bad.

Prosecute suicides!
Like they give a shit.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
