(regarding vote in Texas rejecting the "strengths and weaknesses" of evolution be taught in public schools)
This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian.
Just to get all the humanists and Atheists something to chew on, evolution may be science but it is theory which is conjecture which is no different than creationism.
There is NO PROOF of evolution...just theories. Sorry!

There's endless proof, it's called the fossil record, and mthe majority of Christians are intelligent enough to understand that. Maybe those three Republicans are just smarter than you are, and don't belong to a fundy cult.
Obviously we can totally take this guy seriously! I mean, he definitely knows what a scientific theory is!
Oh, wait, he doesn't. I don't know why, but Texas is just one of those places that is infamous for mistrust in our scientific progress...George Bush is a reflection of that.
Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian.
I don't care if they're republican or not, they're clearly clever enough to realize the future needs educated, intelligent people, not ignorant hicks.
Well, in fact evolution qualifies as a theory.
Creationism on the other hand qualifies merely as a hypothesis.
Do you know the difference?
I bet you don't.

Apparently, words don't mean what this dumbfuck thinks they mean. He bungles republicans, conservatives, christians, humanists, atheists, evolution, science, theory, conjecture, and proof. That doesn't leave him with much.
1 Learn what the word theory means.
2 Evolution is a fact and a theory, just like gravity.
3 Neither evolution nor any other branch of science proves or disproves the existence of God.
4 That being said, aren't you a little old to have an imaginary friend?
"Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian"
Actually they are real republicans, not the super crazy Christian fundamentalist type that seem so common nowadays.
"This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian."
I thought ID had nothing to do with christian creationism.
I even thought that ID having nothing to do with christian creationism was a very very important thing, otherwise it could be interpreted as christians trying to push their religion into the public schools through the science classes.
What makes you think they aren't conservative nor Christian? And organisms have been observed to adapt to their environments. And do you know how a hypothesis becomes a theory? And for you to chew on: If evolution is only a theory, so is Creationism. Which is conjecture with no proof. Sorry! Now go learn about hypothesis and how they become theories before you throw the word theory out there
*Sorry!*
,,, Carico, is that you?
So you admit creationism isn't real?
Still, "theory" does not mean "guess". It means an explanation of the evidence. When you put all the evidence together, it all points to evolution, so that is the theory.
Just to get all the humanists and Atheists something to chew on, evolution may be science but it is theory which is conjecture which is no different than creationism.
There is NO PROOF of evolution...just theories. Sorry!
I could just get into a rant on how Christianity thinks it owns conservatism, but how you flaunt your stupidity pisses me off.
Scientific theories have never failed a test.
It's elementary, my dear Dero. Theories explain facts, and that's what science does, make accurate models of reality. God making everything in current form is a silly model and has no evidence, it's batshit insane, and you're just a maggot-brained fundie. Get off my internets. I mean it. Now.
In studies done (unfortunately, I don't have them on me now) for young people that voted for Obama, they said that his race had essentially no impact on their choice to vote for him. Young people also don't see homosexuality as a sin; instead they see it as a type of sexual preference people are born with. They also want to focus on acual issues, like global warming. These are things science has proven, or at least strongly support. Like evolution.
This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian.
Or maybe old-school Republican party realizes it's dying, and is trying to get with the times? Damn that liberal Internet, with it's ability to give young people any information on a topic!
@Crazalus
Ah, I see. My mistake.
This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian.
I'm soory, it seems that in the many, many times I've read the bible I missed the part where it was said that only you, among all people who ever lived, were allowed to decide who is and is not a christian, and the part where it was said that all christians must be conservative republicans.
I'm willing to bet that you are one of those people who think you have to be american to be a True Christian(TM).
Sweet, my first submission to the new board made the mainpage.
As much as I loved living in Texas, it's idiots like this that keep me from moving back.
At BEST one could argue that creationism is a hypothesis, but I doubt they understand the difference.
Being a theory doesn't mean it is 100% correct, but it does mean that it has a lot of good information in it. Scientists have no reason to protect the theory; after all just think how famous the scientist that proved it wrong and another theory right would become? They have every reason to shoot it down!
'There is NO PROOF of evolution'
WRONG, dipshit! There's a HELL of a lot more proof of evolution than creationism. But I know, you fundy fucktards only think 'the Buy-Bull says it, so that makes it true'. Get your head out of your KJV asshole & into a modern science text.
[This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian.]
...because, obviously, one's political and religious views are based only on their stance on evolution. [/sarcasm]
[Just to get all the humanists and Atheists something to chew on, evolution may be science but it is theory which is conjecture which is no different than creationism.]
So you have mountains of peer-reviewed scientific evidence in support of creationism? Cool! Let's see it.
[There is NO PROOF of evolution...just theories. Sorry!]
True. And irrelevant.
There's no proof of electricity, either...just a very strong argument based on evidence and repeated testing. The same is true of gravity, and just about any other scientific principle you care to think of. There is NO PROOF of ANYTHING in science. There's testing, and there's evidence.
What's that? You say you don't have any? Not a shred? Well, that's too bad for you, then.
evolution may be science
Good. Good. Keep it up...
but it is theory which is conjecture
Oooh! No, sorry. That is wrong. So close, too.
which is no different than creationism.
Heretic!
One of the main problems with democracy is that you can't force people to listen. That's also one of it's greatest strengths. But lies and repeats of lies really annoy.
P. S. Medical science is just a bunch of theories. If you pray hard enough Dero, god will heal you. Try it sometimes.
The scientific word "theory" does not work that way.
You can't teach evolution without mentioning it's strength and weaknesses, surely.
Good to know that creationism is only conjectures, and not The Truth.
"This is so very sad. Clearly the 3 republicans that voted against this are not conservatives...or Christian. "
OH NOEZ, SOMEONE DOESN'T AGREE WITH ME! THERE NOT TRUE CHRISTIANS!!!
"There is NO PROOF of evolution...just theories. Sorry! "
There's no proof for the bible, either. But that's never stopped you.
"evolution may be science"
yep
"but it is theory"
yep
" which is conjecture"
SO no.
"which is no different than creationism. "
yep.
Three out of four, and still completely wrong. You have to be a fundie to pull off a trick like that.
You have no idea what a theory is. Besides, creationism, isn't even a hypothesis, let alone even a logical idea.
There is lots of proof for evolution, and none that supports Creationism, but loads that completely disprove it, so everyone who believes it is either stupid or ignorant. Sorry!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
