Speaking as a proud left-wing Atheist in the glorious People's Socialist Republic of Kingston-Upon-Hull (Labour MPs, and a huge Labour presence in our council, after the kick in the bollocks the Liberal Democrats were given in the last local elections), the appelation 'Communist' is something to be celebrated. After all, guess who we have buried in Highgate Cemetery here in the UK?:

I guess the above is one reason why Britain will never become a fundie haven, socially (our innate British sense of criticising everything; royalty, the establishment, the media, politics, and especially religion; also cynicism & satirising anything & everything), and Politically.

Yep. Despite all of McCarthy's bluff, bluster and bullshit, a Communist Party of America still exists to this day. And Federal law (especially post-McCarthy's FAIL) means that they can't even be touched.
