Surely the lack of prayer, etc in schools is actually offensive to believers that their children are taught by state education, that God doesn't matter so we won't teach anything about it.

I'm sure atheists got atheism legally made a religion in the 60s to stop prayers in schools (as it was discriminating them). Now isn't the lack of prayer, etc in schools treating the rights of atheists as more important as Christians, etc, and thus causing the whole thing to go into a catch-22 situation?

What "rights" are Christians being denied? They have the right to pray in school, before school, after school, at lunch, between classes, on the bus, etc. They have the right to form religion based clubs and meet on school property. They have the right to hand out religious material and wear religious medals (although the school may override this with their own rules when they think it may breach the peace). They don't have the right to demand that the government sponsor prayer sessions led by government employees. The decision to stop school sponsored prayer was supported by many religious people, not just atheists. For example, several Jewish groups filed friend of the court briefs. One of the litigants in the landmark case was a unitarian.

Ya know, monotheism is a very dangerous Cleric flaw in hack. If you only believe in ONE gawd, it pisses the others off, and yours in fact, not to mention you're just one little logic lesson away from realising there are none in the first place...

I'm sorry, but when this comes from the lips of people for whom not wearing it = physical punishment (in one case a lady refused to get a driver's permit because her husband disaproved...) You telling me a 12 year old girl wants to dress differently from all her friends and hide herself, willingly, out of her own free will, in a symbol of oppression, and NOT because she'll get punished severely if she doesn't? BULLSHIT.

Not one moderate religious person, muslim or otherwise, I've met endorses this stuff. Many in fact moved so their beloved wife and daughters had some sort of a future. But they're loud, the fundies. Loud and they don't like when people have rights that aren't TRUMPED by theirs...

Or, parents of other religions don't want their child praying to a diffrent god. How would you feel if the schools forced your child to pray to Buddha?

No idoit. Atheism is not an actuall religion and it has been around for centuries.

No, teacher forced prayer was a violation of the first amendment. Just because we started to respect all religions does not mean you have less rights than everyone else.

Nope. Backwards. The legal case that got religion thrown out of school was brought by Catholic parents because their kids were learning a Baptist prayer in school.
Far as i can see, theists aren’t upset that their kids aren’t learning prayers is that they’re learning ungodly things (in their view).

Backwards again. If we were to teach anything about religion in schools, it’s either the historical effects (such as the Inquisition, the Crusades, etc.) or we’d have to teach EVERY religion.

It’s not legally a religion. IIRC, it was recognized that for the purpose of the 1st Amendment, it counts. My freedom to practice atheism is just as important as your freedom to bother your skybeast. But that doesn’t make it a religion.
