Therefore, as a growing number of credentialed scientists around the world discover more and more facts pointing toward intelligent design, the establishment has become outraged at the challenges to their Darwinian faith and beliefs. Like some establishments in the past, they have decided that the best way to deal with scientific challengers is to smear them, attack them and attempt to destroy them.
Starting this Friday, a new documentary entitled “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” is being released nationwide, including at the major Fort Wayne theaters. In this film, Ben Stein takes on the issue of the scientific establishment's censorship. I urge you to see what's happening in America to those who challenge the establishment's view.
As a footnote, I appear briefly in the film. It is my first, and likely last, appearance in major movie theaters.

Indeed, no intelligence was allowed in the making of that film. Nor was honesty. What, with the taking quotes out of context (often altering them), lying to all the evolutionary biologists in the film about what the film was about, the completely staged standing ovation Ben Stein got in a presentation and the fact that the guy supposedly fired for publishing a pro-ID article was actually slated for removal from his position well before he published it, there's barely an iota of truth in the film.
This is just another desperate attempt to discredit evolution. Well, good luck with that. If I'm going to see this ridiculous film, I will only do so for the entertainment value. I love to mock fundie ignorance of evolution.
"Like some establishments in the past, they have decided that the best way to deal with scientific challengers is to smear them, attack them and attempt to destroy them."
I guess you're referring to the church here.
And I won't go see your movie because I really don't like movies...
well, what is the scientific evidence in favor of ID?
can we find the Intelligent Designer using the scientific method?
is that even possible? yes? no?
the correct answer is NO.
Evolution is not a Darwinian faith, and the reason why people are "outraged" about I.D. supporters is because they adamantly try to claim that I.D. is science when it is NOT! If they merely believed in intelligent design, there would be no issue. When they try to use their beliefs to gain leverage in forcing unsupported, non-scientific ideas and philosophies into mainstream, physically evidenced science, you are rightfully going to receive some flak.
The people who try to keep creationism out of the scientific realm are very justified is doing so, since you have no proof of your hypothesis and your hypothesis brings nothing of value to the table.
Seriously, I'm getting sick of ID crap.
""Therefore, as a growing number of credentialed scientists around the world discover more and more facts pointing toward intelligent design""
I've yet to see a single one.
""the establishment has become outraged at the challenges to their Darwinian faith and beliefs.""
Fail. Science isn't an organized religion. If you disprove a scientific theory, you become a rich and famous hero, not an outcast. Just that your church is dogmatic doesn't mean science is, too.
""Like some establishments in the past, they have decided that the best way to deal with scientific challengers is to smear them, attack them and attempt to destroy them.""
Wrong. Science is not an organized fundie religion.
""As a footnote, I appear briefly in the film. It is my first, and likely last, appearance in major movie theaters.""
I should hope so.

One can only hope.
What a crockumentary.

Marketing for Jesus!
I love how all scientists are gay, liberal, satan-loving evolutions when they go against fundie beliefs, but are immediately esteemed members of the scientific community if they adopt fundie beliefs.
Technically, I guess that the transition from one to two is a "growing number."
Science is the results of the majority of scientific inquiry. The most respected scientists carry more weight then newbies or scientests in other fields.
Creation has no scientists as it's not a field of science . It's theology or Religion and yes, It has NO place in scientific exploration as it NEVER has dealt in fact.
Ben Stein's a shill, a mouthpiece for cash. And he's not a scientist of any kind.
"As a footnote, I appear briefly in the film. It is my first, and likely last, appearance in major movie theaters."
,,,,and due to your association with such a dishonest, amateurish, disorganised piece of cinematic ignominy, we are grateful it will probably be your last.

Mirror, mirror ...
a growing number of credentialed scientists around the world discover more and more facts pointing toward intelligent design
You idiots have been claiming that since literally the day the ToE was published.
For those who haven't seen the movie it's message is this: Creationists beliefs are being unfairly banned from the scientific establishment and proponents of ID are being expelled from all fields of science.
There is no evidence provided for this in all the cases presented. I watched that shitbomb of a lieamentary. Every case is about a creationist violating rules and being slightly chastised or demouted for it.
The movie also makes this wild claim: Scientific fields and institutions have no right to bar creationist beliefs from their system, curiculum or publications.
Bullshit Stein!
They have every right to do so as surely as they can bar any other unproven myth from muddying the process.
This movie was funded by the Domininists as part of their Wedge Document scheme, to force creationist beliefs into all establishments as much as possible until they get a few cases they can win under a conservative judge.
This has suceeded in some public schools in the Southern states and under the Voucher program Republican states have introduced that funnels money into (some being created just as this voucher program is established) private Christian schools.
A growing number? You mean like in 2007 there were three, in 2008 there were five, and now in 2014 there are twenty? If only they could share these facts with "credentialed scientists" who actually work with Biology research...
Only cretinists calls it Darwinian anything, and it's definitely not faith and belief, but facts and evidence. Real scientists are stimulated by challenges; the ones who smears scientific challenges are mostly those "credentialed scientists" you were talking about, like Expelled and other such tripe.
Oh, dear... There is indeed no intelligence, whatsoever allowed in the poor excuse for a movie called "Expelled"; it has been so thoroughly debunked that no-one who wants to be seen as educated or intelligent wants to touch it with ten-foot tongs. Only unsubstantiated claims with no evidence in their favor are "censored", stupid. It’s called the Scientific Method; look it up!
Did this really go up in major movie theatres? What was it credited as? Comedy? Fiction? Frat-party nonsense?
Confused?
