We have a strong and active "pro-life" movement in Sweden too. (Nothing even close to the one in the US, of course, but they are aspiring to become bigger...) We have the "Ja till livet" (Yes to Life) organization that thinks that fetuses should have human rights (but women shouldn't, apparently). The Christian Democrat Party wants to limit women's reproductive rights, and think that gynecologists and midwives ought to have the right to refuse to perform abortions. As the laws are now; if you take the job, you must perform the job. Simple and concise.

How can you trick someone into having a choice about his or her body? That's the law in most countries (at least for men and dead bodies). The embryo/fetus could one day become a "real person". You ought to be empowered BEFORE you have an abortion, as it will not be an easy thing, whether you're determined or not.
What alternatives to continued pregnancy did the "pro-life" groups present? What kind of post-abortion counseling do they have? I'd have thought that it would all be "MURDERER! You've killed an innocent child, you horrible, evil witch!".
What our movement has resulted in is fewer women dying from "back-alley" unsafe and dangerous abortions (which used to kill the embryos/fetuses too), fewer unwanted and abandoned children, fewer newborns found in trashcans or landfills or outside orphanage doors.
