Sadly, Steve Irwin wasn’t a creationist. He mentioned evolution and the concept of millions of years many times in his television programs. For example, he once told Larry King on CNN’s Larry King Live cable program that crocodiles had been around for 200 million years, and if you weren’t careful they would kill you"

Hmmm. I should take the death of a man who accepted the ToE and the great age of the earth as reminder that I should foster delusions in the minds of my family and friends? No, not at all. I take it as a reminder that life is short, too short to waste time on imaginary friends and ancient scriptures. Carpe diem, but make sure you're seizing the real day, not an illusion.
The guy died because he accidentily startled a stingray which, by some fluke, put a hole in his heart. It had nothing to do with what he believed in, and you suck.
Sorry I'm not more eloquent.
When this fucktard vulture (most appropriate epithet) can prove what happened to Steve Irwin on the "other side," then he'll have the right to puke up this sort of excretus. Until then, he needs to shut the fuck up and leave the rest of us to ponder and grieve in peace.
Okay...Steve Irwin was a bit of an econut, to the point that he helped to sabotage managed hunting tours that would've benefited local economies.
Hell, he took his kid into a croc pen!
I still would much rather have a guy who's passionate about the real world than some fantasty world in my corner.
So...Steve Irwin, you were a guy who acted nuts.
Ken Ham, you just plain are nuts.
My condolences to the family, and most especially Terri, who literally was the last one to know :-(
I believe that calling this guy a prick is an insult to dicks everywhere...
but I'm sure they won't mind just this once.
Ken Ham, you are a prick.
Steve Irwin, rest in peace, you crazy fuck.
I was about to write about how we would likely not see another act worthy of the vulture award. And then I read Uber Lutheran's contribution.
Is it possible to give the same award, to the same person, twice in one day?
Pope John Paul II also believed in Eeolution Ken, is that why he became increasingly frail, yet Charles Darwin died quite peacefully aged 72.
Jesus Christ didn't believe in evolution and look what happened to him!
I do not expect fundamentalists to display much in the way of compassion towards those who do not share their beliefs, but in most cases I can still consider them human (albeit misguided ones). Whenever I read a comment that seems to lack any sense of decency, words often fail me.
For whatever reason that is not the case now.
You, sir (I use the term lightly, Ken Ham is no gentleman), are an opportunistic pig for using the tragedy of a man's death to further your agenda. What you have done is beyond normal levels of human opportunism.
If you were to die this instant I can most assuredly tell you that I would not shed a tear.
I did read the whole thing and all I can say is, AAAAAAUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
Ken Kram you are a selfish, self-righteous, idiot barbarian who wouldn't know a good man if saved your pitiful life. To sit there and act like Steve Irwin's death is just a sigh and reminder that non-believers go to hell is dispicable. This man knew more of the world then you will ever know. He knew that the world is older than your stupid book. I'd like to saw you in half and see how many rings you have you bigoted quarter-wit.
Proof that Creationists of Ken Ham's calibre are sick and twisted non-Christians.
I bet that if someone Ken Ham likes dies, then it's a tragedy that had nothing to do with God. However, if someone he hates dies, it's God's punishment.
Idiot.
According to Ham, Steve Irwin is in hell for eternity for believing in evolution. What sort of God is it who would do such a thing?
Actually I'm glad Ham has said this. It puts "the love of Christ" into an entirely new light when his followers spout crap like this.
If there is a hell, then I'd rather be with Steve Irwin than in heaven with a self-righteous asshole like Ken Ham
And now he's in Hell, right?
We don't know. Obviously believing in creation or not dosen't matter for your eternal salvation.

Blame the creationist.

What does the death of Ken Ham mean for us? It’s a reminder that we all need to repent of stupidity so that we can be saved from mobs of angry Australiansbecause we all face death. See? I can blame deaths on beliefs too!
Ken Ham, go fuck yourself, die, go to your heaven, and suck Jesus's cock.
The only comforting thing I can say is that he died doing the thing he loved most. Sadly, Ken Ham, you will die with a wasted life behind you. Get fucked, by the way.
I remember how his group treated Stephen Gould when he died. Here at least, he's being more subtle, and is throwing in enough "nice" things to say so he's got deniability about how he holds non-creationists like Irwin in contempt. Smooth....
Ken Ham is a Cunt, Steve Irwin did more in his 44 years than this usless Bible-Bashing cock-monkey god-botherer will ever do in his whole misrable god-fearing existence.
Fuck you Ken and I hope you get bitten or stung by some highly toxic creature, and you have a very slow & very, very painful demise.
I recommend to all of you to read the whole article. Each and every one of these 70 some odd comments decry Ken Hams supposed close mindedness, yet your close mindedness screams out by your comments. Read the whole article and you will see most of you have him wrong. He wasnt saying God killed him because he wasnt a Creationist, as you all directly or indirectly accuse. He wrote the article to explain to those perplexed by his sad and senseless death the age old question "How can a loving God allow this to happen to such a good man." Read the whole article and your mind may become as open as you try to make us all think it is. Writen With Respect.
Yeah those touching paragraphs at the end about Steve burning in Hell are so heart warming! Make sure you convert now, so you don't end up like Steve who died suddenly and wasn't "saved"!
Look you fuckwit! God does not exist. Pretending he does is fraudulent, especially in commercial sites like Mr Ham's. The entire article was proselytisation, preaching and an advert- hence a very justifiable "Vulture" award. Ham is feasting on his carcass.
Steve Irwin did more in his short time on this earth than most of us could ever hope to achieve in a lifetime four times his. He was a great man who brought wildlife conservation into our homes in a manner that even my 4-year old found enthralling. He opened the world's unique habitats to the rest of us with a yearning to understand the unusual. He brought laughter into many homes - and yes, I thought the guy was crazy at times, but that was his appeal. It was what allowed him to bring so much to such a wide audience. He's the kind of man that no one can say anything negative about - because there simply is nothing. Ken, he'll never be forgotten, unlike you. I can only hope to die in the same fashion someday - doing what I love.
A few people have called Ken Ham a prick. While I can understand, and even appreciate the sentiment, I must take exception to the term.
Ken Ham is such a fucking phony, it is more appropriate to call him a dildo.

I wondered what you meant by that...I didn't think that was on the AIG site, until I read this:
For all Steve Irwin’s popularity, for all the worldly goods he may have obtained, none of this could save him from the penalty that we are all under as children of Adamdeath. And as the Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:810:
I guess he does say that, however indirectly.
I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this:

Also with the sentences before and after...
Make sure you have committed your life to Christ, for death is a reality, and what happens beyond the grave depends on your choice today
and
What does the death of Steve Irwin mean for us? It’s a reminder that we all need to repent of our sin so that we can be saved for eternity
along with the fear tactics from earlier...
However, the fact that anyone dies should be a reminder to us that ultimately everyone will die. And it can happen when you least expect it.
Classic fucking insurance scam. Create a fear - offer an expensive solution to the fear you just created.
I am not a Steve Irwin fan, but this is sickening. What kind of sick asshole uses the death of another as a pulpit to try and further their own sick beliefs before the fucking body is cold? Evolution is proven everytime a fundie asshole like this opens his mouth. It proves single celled organisms evolved into walking, talking, unthinking single celled organisms.
Sadly, sometimes SEEMINGLY intelligent people (even "People of God"...)will use events such as Irwin's death to promote their twisted agendas....like those who base their beliefs on documents(i.e. the Bible) written thousands of years ago (as a reflection of and in the context of the times they were written in...(as in,"We don't know why that happened... so God did it."...using that 'head in the sand' approach is the only "sin" I see here)...another striking example of how religious based thinking can have little or nothing to do with any rational based thinking.
I'm not normally at a loss for words, but my fucking god (get the irony?), you are one hell of a fucking cunt, Ken Ham
Oh My Hell...
*Respected K.H. once upon a time*
Mr. Ham,
You do realize that salvation is based on belief in Jesus as Saviour alone right? That is what saves, not the belief that God created the world in a literal Biblical interpretation.
And I still stand by my opinion that you look like Abraham Lincoln...
Ken Ham is one of the worst fundie-offenders in history. I have heard him say on many occaisons that man makes falible interpretations (but only in the science context. When it comes to the Bible, man apparently doesn't interpret that and it's infalible)
In short, the dogma etched on his brain is beyond repair. A truly brain damaged fundie.
Oh...my...
WTF, you bastard, he did more for this Earth and it's creatures- who, like it or not, were HERE BEFORE US than you've ever done. Oh, but they don't count, do they? Because we humans, the earth belong to us! And look how we're screwing it up! Oh, but GOD wants us to.
My final words...
In the words of Foamy, "I hope you jerk off in your bible, and you get a paper cut on your nuts!"
I rather smear my lips and tongue with crap than to shake hands with this guy... Really no need to be a fan of Irwin to feel sorry for the loss he leaves in his daughter and son (I think I remember he had a son too, at least one) as no matter how well their wealth can keep them (I mean, I do guess the guy is leaving some economical comfort behind) the loss of a father so obviously dedicated to his children is something hard to overcome, if it's even possible to do so. But of course this guy can only think about preaching and criticizing. He's not better than the priests who give sermons at funerals, preaching on someone's death like a vulture... 'Cause well that's what christianity is about... Isn't it? About fear of death and priests using it to get sumission to them...
This is exactly the wrong way to go about mentioning the death of someone, even someone you hotly disagree with. It'd be like me saying the equivalent thing for Jerry Falwell and his way with the Word, only worse since you're essentially saying "He wasn't a creationist. He loses." At least you mention some of his good things, so I can't deny credit where it's due. However, it is NOT good to use belief in creationism as the yardstick for salvation, in ANY case, no matter how polite your words sound.
I don't believe in Hell, but I honestly, sincerely hope that one exists just for Ken Ham.
Even months later, the horrible things he said about Steve Irwin have lost none of their sting. What an awful, awful excuse for a human being Ken Ham is. How you can be that terrible and preach righteousness is beyond me. Cruel, ugly, sick bastard.
Oh wow. Attacking someone that can't defend themselves. REAL chivalrous there, Ken. Steve was a much, MUCH better person than you could even hope to be a fraction of. Die in a fire, please.
God, this site opened my eyes to idiocy in Fundamentalism, but this is asshattery of the highest degree, in any religeon.
Steve Irwin was, in my opinion, one of the greatest men to walk this earth. He did so much for the environment, and taught our children to love and respect the creatures that we share this planet with. He was a true hero, and you can shove your creationism bullshit up your ass.
Wow. This is the first time, I've actually wished there is a Hell, if only so people like you, Ken Ham, can go there.
Have any of you guys ever taken a good look at ol' Ken Ham's portrait? The man looks like an ape. Am I the only one who has noticed this? If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that we were dealing with a global conspiracy propagated by an actual missing link the evolutionary chain who doesn't want us to recognize him for the ape-like being he really is. The apes are plotting against us, folks, and denying evolution is just the first step in their devious plan.
Steve Irwin was a very good man you fundie jerk. You have earned this title well... although I'm sure the vultures are offended. I'm sure that right now He is in Heaven, and he's teaching the angels how to say crikey and wrestle the Crocs in his personal heaven. (Which I picture as his zoo and a place for him to track and watch crocs all he wants)
If any person on this Earth Deserve Heaven, it's that man. So sod off you opportunist cockbiting fucktard.
You know, unlike most celebrities, Steve Irwin was a good guy who actually made a difference in the world, he made people get exited about animals and care about wildlife, he condemned blaming an animal whenever he was attacked. He was a good guy and deserves nothing less of respect.
Let's not use a popular icon's death to push your religious/political agenda, Ken.
I guess Ken is jealous that he couldn't have his own television show about teaching crationism while taming God's creatures.
By the way, Steve Irwin is more of a man than you'll ever be Ken, at least he puts up more of a cause by taking action instead of placing words, you fucking facist cunt.
So, God killed a wonderful man who did much for the conservation of wildlife and had a happy family... because he believed in evolution rather than skydaddy's magical fingersnap of life?
This is why I will never bow to your monster you call God, even if he materializes in front of my face. Fuck you with a rusty rake.
Please understand that this "museum" is not representative of all Kentuckians. I have lived here all my life, but I am not one of these fucktards who actually believe in this man's bullshit. I would like to see this museum burn to the ground. I live 15 minutes from this disgrace, and I would not visit this place if someone paid me too! Its sad to me that children and scientifically ignorant adults are being spoonfed this bullshit by the thousands. It truly breaks my heart what these people are doing to destroy knowledge. It really should be a crime, but our great country protects free-speech (which it rightly should) so this madness will continue...
Steve Irwin's death tells us that wildlife is called wild for a bloody good reason. He would have been the first to acknowledge it when he was alive.
Oh yes, and crocodiles have been around for a lot longer than 6000 years and they do kill. You don't need your own wildlife show on TV to know that unless you're a complete cretin.
And creationists never get stabbed through the heart with stingrays?
Actually, they probably don't but my point is they still die in strange and unexpected ways.
Sadly, Steve Irwin wasn’t a creationist
Which is something in the late Mr Irwin's favour - he accepted science.
Confused?
