(On an article about a 52 million year old bat fossil)
52 million years old, hu? Haha! (sigh) when will people learn to think for themselves...

when will people learn to think for themselves...
We've been asking theists the same question for thousands of years.
(sigh)
Yeah, you're really put-upon, aren't you? It must be tough being a member of a clear majority. Maybe one day you'll find atheists who are so weak-minded that they'll just fold at the slightest theistic criticism. Until then you have me to deal with.
"...when will people learn to think for themselves... "
What a pertinent question!
But i feel Diamond dog menas using the Bible to think, so it's misleading, to say the least.
ACH, TO BUNKERS
SHE'S GUVNA BLOW!
"when will people learn to think for themselves"
Many already have. It's not too late to join them.
Well, it may be pointless in your case.
when will people learn to think for themselves
Truer words were never spoken, Diamond Dog... it's just too bad you're too blind to follow your own advice, and accept the word of your pastor at face value.
I thought they were going to say, "See! Evolution didn't happen! There were still bats back then!"
Kinda glad he didn't, though, 'cause this is funnier.
Poe or projection.
So would dating items by "thinking for oneself" mean inventing a favorite number out of thin air? Pretending that it's 6k years old because a YEC cult dictates you to say that by quote mining and misrepresenting ancient mythology from ancient human scripture? Using the scientific method to date things could be argued not to be "thinking for oneself" but it at least results in the best estimation. And at least, it's a free scientist working in the field, rather than a preacher obliged to do the field work, annoying the neighbors with bigotry, threats and reciting the dictated human reality-denial doctrine of a particular cult (or spamming on the internet to that effect)... And when it's not because they're obliged, it's the need to constantly reaffirm their strange beliefs by conditioning, because of cognitive dissonance.
I was brainwashed in day-age creationism by the cult I grew in. I can still remember when I considered much of biology to be "propaganda", like phylogenetic trees and cladistics. Imagine. Without these, one is pretty clueless about life and organisms, it's actually very useful material.
Confused?
