The Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God.
All other books and writings are inferior to God's word, the Bible.
Only false theories contradict the Holy Bible.

Can you prove that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and authorative word of God, using something other than the Bible ?
Without using the Bible, can you even prove that your God exists at all?
*insert the 30-second "Final Jeopardy" theme here*
Didn't think so.
Sorry, you lose. Here's a copy of our home game. Thanks for playing.

But it's such a boring book! The romance and sex scenes are decent enough (well, some of them, at least), but the epic battle scenes are written in such a dull prose. "That guy went there and God killed bazillion people, the end." It just doesn't compare to modern-day historical fiction!
"All other books and writings are inferior to God's word, the Bible"
Except for the ones that the Bible plagiarized.
The bible claims the earth is flat,
It rests on pillars,
The sky is a solid bronze bowl,
Insects have 4 legs,
Bats are birds,
pi = 3,
And kings are chosen by a god named Jehova.
No shellfish for you then? Nor any clothes of mixed fabrics? And you never work on Saturdays?
The Jewis custom of not mixing milk with meat, is that in the OT, or in some other book?
As the different versions and translations, are somewhat different, they can't all be the inerrant and infallible word of God.

Yes, Exodus 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
"Only false theories", would these happen to be only theories you don't like?
Or just ones that contradict the account of scripture, like the one about the Earth being round - evidently a false theory as scripture clearly states that the flat earth has pillars.
snowman42? More like Strawman, IQ: 42, amirite? Because you'd have to be a moron to not see the inherent contradictions & errors in the Bible.
And how do you know the Bible is THE definitive 'word of God' (without recourse to the Bible itself)? For all you know, it could be the Quran, the Hindu Vedas, the Sikh's Guru Granth Sahib, or even the stone tablets & wooden stylae with the undecipherable language of Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Rongorongo - ordering you to worship the Moai (Easter Island heads) as your God(s). On the latter basis (and going by Paschal's Wager), said carvings in Rongorongo are the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of Makemake (the Rapa Nuian deity).
I don't know, I really think His Dark Materials is better written then the Bible, and has a clearer and BETTER moral message. I think His Dark Materials is better then the Bible in just about any way possible, and the best part is that the writer knows the difference between fantasy and reality and so do (most of) the readers.
@Viktoria:
How can you say the sex scenes are decent?
Genesis 4:1 "Then Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she became pregnant."
You just don't feel the love, it's shallow and lacks passion.
Reminds me of a customer that came into the shop today (I work in a book store) and asked for a bible. Being one of the most highly stolen books around we have to keep the bibles behind the counter. Out I come with about 6 different bibles for her perusal (NIV, NLT, KJV, the Message Remixed, etc.).
She looked through the pile and said "No, all I need is the Holy Bible. Don't you have one of those?"
I think this comment was actually posted by 'Luther_Wesley-Baxter' in response to an original post by snowman42.
Snowman42 responds:
"Hi Luther_Wesley-Baxter,
Thank you for posting. Just wondering where in the bible do any of the authors say their words are infallible? Is there a verse, if so would you be kind enough to quote it. If not what are you basing you opinion on?
snowman42"
"The Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God."
Also, you missed out stupid and silly.
....
Only false theories contradict the Holy Bible?
The bible contradicts itself all the time.
Therefore, the Bible is a false theory.
YES!
That first sentence should win an award for the most wrong in a sentence.
The Bible is not holy, nor inerrant, nor infallible, nor authoritative, nor the word of a god.
A boring book of false theories, contradictions, sexist, xenophobia and racism can you prove that it is inerrant, infallible and the authorative word of god by using something other than the bible? Can you even prove that god exists without the bible?
Only false theories contradict the Holy Bible.
The so-called "Holy" Bible contradicts itself, in numerous verses. (For examples, see The Sceptics Annotated Bible, or any other Bible-critical resource)
-> Ergo (as of this Fundies own argument): The so-called "Holy" Bible is a false theory.
Yes, this is what fundies believe, we know that. Any chance of discussing it? Not given the provenance of this quote.
If you follow the link you'll find that these are the words not of Snowman (who DOESN'T believe in the infallibility of Scripture and wonders if others share his doubts) but a guy called Luther Wesley-Baxter. Click on him, check his other posts, and you find they are - like this one - short, totally dogmatic, blinkered and ignorant. We don't need to sink to his level, surely.
The Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God.
Even verses like Psalm 137:9, where it is stated quite clearly that it is fun to smash little babies against rocks?
Quote Psalm 137:9 "Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones."
If it's "inerrent" and "infallible" why does it say
"Thou shalt not kill" in one place, and then
You must kill those who worship another god. Exodus 22:20
Kill any friends or family that worship a god that is different than your own. Deuteronomy 13:6-10
Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find any one person that worships differently than you. Deuteronomy 13:12-16
Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7
Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest. Deuteronomy 17:12-13
Kill any false prophets. Deuteronomy 18:20
Any city that doesn’t receive the followers of Jesus will be destroyed in a manner even more savage than that of Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 6:11
Jude reminds us that God destroys those who don’t believe in him. Jude 5
Not so "inerrent" or "infallible" is it?
"The Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible..."
How many legs do insects have again?
Again, not so "inerrant" or "infallible".
No, it's a collection of Jewish tales, traditions, poems and allegories. I don't think that we can consider something like that infallible. Still a decent anthology.
“The Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God.”
1. Moses wrote the first five books, right?
2. Moses dies in the fifth book.
3. For 1 and 2 to both be infallible, Moses’ ghost came back post moredem to write about his funeral and to declare himself to be the most humble man in the world, ‘Even to this day.’
Confused?
