In response to the cloud rat being "rediscovered" after not being seen for 112 years:
well all this shows is how scientists jump to conclusions....the weather may be a tad warmer for a couple years and its global warming they say....now they find animals they thought were extinct or almost extinct...how come scientists arent claiming that God is recreating these animals

Wow. I shoulda known some bullshit like this would happen.
If God is so big on recreating animals, where the hell are the dodos? And passenger pigeons? Or does he only 're-create' obscure extinct species?
Summary:
Scientists were wrong about a rat.
Therefore, the scientists must have jumped to conclusions.
Therefore, global warming must be a case of scientists jumping to conclusions.
Therefore, the scientists should jump to conclusions and admit that God brought the rats back to life.
If I may jump to conclusions, I believe that this serves as undeniable proof of the divinity of Jesus Christ, our lord and savior.
"...how come scientists aren't claiming that God is recreating these animals"
1 It wouldn't be science, it would be theology
2 It isn't happening
the weather may be a tad warmer for a couple years and its global warming they say..
Er, yes, that's the definition of global warming (trend of increase of average temperature of Earth). Your point?
No where in the article does it suggest that scientist thought that this animal was extinct, simply very rare and in the tops of trees in very remote jungle areas. YOU jumped to a conclusion ricsow, without reading the whole article. BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What an ultra-maroon!
now they find animals they thought were extinct or almost extinct
The definition of almost extinct means theres still one or two around. Who knows, maybe global warming is good for these creatures. I know it's not going to be so great for the dominant species.
God's creating previously extinct animals you say? Really?
I really would like to have one of these.

Perhaps God will make one just for me then? That would be very nice.
Because it is simply more likely that we didn't see them in their dwindling numbers.
Extinct doesn't mean they're gone, just that we can't find them anymore.
Because prior to the discovery there was no evidence that would lead anyone to conclude the rat still existed so they had no choice to be conclude it was extinct. Same thing with atheists, there's no evidence to conclude that your god exists but if you can provide us with said evidence we'll believe in him.
An animal has been rediscovered, and you jump, nay, LEAP to the conclusion that goddidit.
And WTH does global warming have to do with the rediscovery of a species of rat?
Ah, AOL News, a bastion of human intelligence and critical thinking, as we see here with ricsow2's post... oh. Perhaps not.
Agreed, God needs to bring back thylacines, then.
Those were fucking awesome.
well all this shows is how scientists jump to conclusions....the weather may be a tad warmer for a couple years and its global warming they say
Bullshit. The temperature has not increased by this much this fast in the known history of the world.
how come scientists arent claiming that God is recreating these animals
Because they're not dumbass fundies.
"the weather may be a tad warmer for a couple years"
Actually it's a lot warmer for over 100 years, but don't let facts get in your way.
“well all this shows is how scientists jump to conclusions...”
Except they don’t. Pretty sure the descirption was ‘none seen since 1890, presumed extinct.’ A statement that isn’t made false by finding another one.
“the weather may be a tad warmer for a couple years and its global warming they say...”
A tad. For a couple of years. Yeah, that’s not what they say. They can actually show you the evidence if you’re willing to listen.
"now they find animals they thought were extinct or almost extinct...”
They regularly find animals that they thought were extinct. Look at the coelacanth if you must.
“how come scientists arent claiming that God is recreating these animals”
Because science doesn’t DO magic.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
