If you didn't know it, the Earth is the center of the Universe. It is written in the colors of the stars. The stars and their galaxies give off a red light shift away from their natural color because they are all moving away from the Earth. So no matter where a telescope looks in the uniform sky, the galaxies are all moving away from us. How could this be? Well, it's simply because the Lord created the Earth and our Sun and all the stars (other suns) using the Earth as the Center of Creation. From this central hub, the galaxies are moving away, causing a red light shift. There is no other explanation.
When you also check out the Scriptures of the Creator, you’ll note that the Earth is NOT just another planet among the billions of planets the Lord has made. It was here, and not in some far-flung galaxy, where the Lord of All Creation was born and crucified. It is here that the Lord of Lords brings down his ETERNAL CITY, New Jerusalem. There is no other Savior in the Universe--only Jesus.
We are not situated on just a planet in the sand of the seashores of all heavenly bodies; we are on the Earth which is the center of the whole Universe. This is what the WORD says and what science proves.

No all astronomical evidence shows the Earth is a tiny insignificant part of a Universe so vast it is beyond all comprehension.

This is completely relative. If you were to be on one of those stars the light coming from the Earth would appear as if the Earth was moving away from you. Also the Andromeda galaxy is on a collision course with ours.

Like I said this is completely relative. I wouldn't be surprised if someone on an alien planet an equally irrational alien being was making the exact same argument.
In my religion, Oa is the center of the universe. I have text to prove it, too. Earth, though, is the center of the Multiverse, which is why we have so many gods here to protect it.
*giggles madly*
Yeah, we're here. It happened here. We're not anywhere else. We're here.
DUH! If we were anywhere else, it would have happened elsewhere. What's the significance of it being HERE OMG!!@@!
Failed astronomy didn't you?
1 The Earth isn't the center of the universe, it isn't even the center of the solar system.
2 The universe is expanding. A redshift will be observed not only from the Earth but from any point in the universe.
"It was here, and not in some far-flung galaxy,"
But if we were in some far-flung galaxy then that place would be here.
Did your head just explode?
I hope someone explains the "raisin bread" effect to him.
Short version, the universe is like a giant loaf of raisin bread dough and each galaxy is a raisin. As the dough rises the bubbles in it expand pushing every raisin further from the center of the dough, but also pushing every raisin away from every other raisin at the same time.
the WORD also says the Earth is a flat disk, and if you believe and drink poison you won't die.
At least they were semiliterate shepherds living in the bronze age. It was natural for them to believe this or some equivalent myth.
What's your excuse for believing it now?
"There is no other explanation."
Oo! Oo! I just saw this when rewatching Cosmos the other day! (episode 7, perhaps?) It's because everything is moving away from everything else !!! Try a little science once in a while, you stupid fuckwit.
Yep, and the Earth is flat, too, and the Sun orbits it.
How can anyone be this ignorant and misinformed in the 21st century?

Uh-oh! If the sun is moving away from us we could be in serious trouble!
Oh fer... OK, ever heard of guy called Ptolemy? You should have, because he actually provided the first scientific argument in favor of geocentrism. His arguments were clever and logical and extremely good science for the time... and avoided any reasoning that could be refuted by relative motion. Yes, that's right: if the Father Of Geocentrism had known about redshift, he would have dismissed it as an argument for geocentrism. In the first fucking century AD. Because he could think, unlike you.
Would you like to come by some time? Even with my low-end backyard telescope, I can see Jupiter's four largest moons, and Saturn's moon Titan. They don't revolve around the Earth, and when the planets, usually moving eastward against the sky, start moving west (retrograde) it's because we're moving past them, like cars going round the track at a NASCAR race, and we're on the inside. Oh, forget it, you wouldn't understand, even if I did try to put it in terms that every redneck fundy would know.

Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
