The pseudo-morality of the Left is a direct response to the moral challenge created by Christianity. The Christian message of redemption and inner peace is enormously powerful when it can be expressed clearly. The purpose of pseudo-morality is to create noise to cover up that powerful message:

“They talk about love but they hate gay people! We are so tolerant that we can’t even see a difference between random acts of sodomy and marital intimacy.”

“They talk about freedom but they want to enslave women! We want women to be free to choose no matter the cost to innocents.”

“They talk about joy but they want you to show self control! We want you to do whatever makes you happy, even if it involves your neighbor’s wife.

“They talk about personal responsibility but they are destroying the planet! We want to save the planet by making everyone live like cavemen.”

“They talk about wisdom but they don’t believe in science! We couch everything we say in scientific terms. We’re so smart!”

The Left mimics and distorts Christian morality in order to defeat Christianity. They substitute tolerance for love, self-indulgence for freedom, temporary pleasure for joy, government control for personal responsibility, and sophistry for wisdom.

It is sad how effective this strategy has been.

I also think calling them ‘the left’ is misleading — it is like referring to Republicans as conservatives when obviously they are not — but they have made it their practice to obscure any identification of themselves, so we are left without any word that defines them.

Who and what they really are is ‘the enemy.’ They are the enemy of man and God, of freedom and decency, of Western civilization and Christendom, and the enemies of logic and reality. They are the eternal rebels, but they are the victims of deception as deeply and as sadly as they are the practitioners of deceit.

When I was an atheist, I came to the conclusion that homosexuality was illogical. One need only look at the shape of the sex organs to see that they have an innate purpose to them, and there is no moral code, not even the most liberal or liberatarian, which does not contain a tacit appeal to the innate purposes of things for moral authority. An atheist can rightly conclude that a sex act which does not involve sex is illogical. An atheist can conclude that the nature of reason is such that to defy reason is to defy goodness: that is it morally wrong to be illogical, for the same reason to tell lies is wrong. From this comes the conclusion that homosexual acts, because illogical, are therefore morally wrong.

Much as it will pain my atheist friends to hear this, the role of reason in the Western world was invented by the Greek, upheld by the Romans, and when those Romans became Christians, Reason was merged, melted and mated to the Christian religion so that one cannot accept Christ without excepting reason, and cannot accept Reason without accepting Christ.

Reason without Christ, if elevated to the sum and final Good of Man, leads to inhuman anger like Marx or inhuman selfishness like Ayn Rand, or inhuman angry selfishness like Dawkins, or inhuman inhumanity like Peter Singer.
