Sin is NOT addressed by the Psychiatric profession. Therefore they have to find something else to blame for your problems. So they blame your parents, a bad teacher, lack of childhood opportunity, etc. I met a Christian woman who told me that she had an ongoing nervous condition. She said she had been to several psychiatrists over the years. One shrink diagnosed her with "clinic depression." Another shrink diagnosed her with "regressive anger" from her childhood. The next shrink diagnosed her with a "hormonal imbalance." The next shrink sent her for medical testing, but they found nothing wrong with the woman. By this time the poor woman had been prescribed multiple different drugs, none of which corrected her problem.
The woman I spoke of earlier, who sought help from several shrinks and doctors, gave up in frustration. She finally asked God to show her what was the real problem. She started reading her Bible and some books written by godly Christian wives. She said that all of a sudden God opened her eyes. She realized that she had not been obedient to her husband. She had half-heartedly performed her duties, while her husband faithfully went to work every day. She had not been the homemaker she was supposed to be. She had slacked off as a mother and a wife for several years. She explained to me that she had been running from God during that entire time, but wouldn't admit it to herself. Though she never went into "deep sin" as she termed it, she had become lackadaisical in her responsibilities. She said that she promised God to do better, and asked God to help her be the wife and mother she was supposed to be. She told me that she hadn't been to a psychiatrist since, and that was a few years ago. What a wonderful testimony! This woman spent thousands of dollars of her husbands money going to shrinks, all because she was rebellious against God and her husband.
