“Think about a helocopter leaving the spinning earth, staying aloft for hours, how can their take off spot still be righ beteath when they are preparing to land.”
Think about this: The helicopter has an engine, rotors. the pilot has to put in some effort to stay hovering over a particular spot. This is a bad example.
On the other hand, consider artillery. Once you fire the round at some distant target over the horizon, there’s no updates to the shell’s speed, trajectory, right? But if we do NOT take the Earth’s rotation into account when we aim, we miss the target. Every time.
The farther the round goes, the further off the round will be.
When we fire Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, we must take Earth Rotation into account. Say the target is traveling east at 700 mph. And say, for discussion, thatthe missile will take one hour to complete the flight. If we shoot at where the target is RIGHT NOW, we will miss by 700 miles. We’ve done this. There’s a budget for missile test launches from submarines every year. We always calculate the rotation. We always hit the target closely.
“And if earths atmosphere moves with it,wow. How high up does that
remain the case...stratosphere, troposphere, inoisphere?”
Earth’ gravity holds the air down all the way up, or it wouldn’t be our atmosphere.
“Something doesnt add up.”
You don’t want it to add up, so you misunderstand the actual science.
"Then you get a 150mph wind at the earths surface....tornado...and it devistates everything.”
Yes, but it’s not rotation that causes a tornado. Category error.
“KEEP AN OPEN MIND.”
Dude, this is part of my job. You’re being a dumbass, not an enlightened being.
“ DONT RULE OUT FLAT EARTH, ELIPTICAL EARTH, DISC SHAPED EARTH.”
Everything i know works best if we assume an oblate sphereoid.
“NOT ONE PERSON ON THIS WEBSITE KNOWS THE ACTUAL FACTS REGARDING THIS, SO DONT PRETEND THAT YOU DO.”
Well, I know that YOU don’t know enough to discount ANYONE’s input on this topic.
