No one goes to bed hungry that is trusting in God to provide for them.

John, you are truly fucked in the head. Trusting in god to provide is a sure fire way to starve to death, because, guess what? God is a made up entity, there is no "god", and people starve, not from lack of faith, but from lack of food!
Fuckwit.

...that...was the best I could do.
Tell you what, John -- why don't you spend a couple of months living out in the streets, scrounging through trash for food, and then try to say this again while keeping a straight face.
OK JohnR7, let's put your theory to the test. I want you to go into the middle of the desert and stand there. I am sure God will be along to feed you eventually, and meanwhile, we will not have to put up with your ignorant posts.
Yet another twist on the "if only you believed, all your problems would go away" claim.
This is the same kind of asshat statement that draws people with terrible illnesses to evangelists for a "healing," and then blames the failure of that healing on the lack of faith of the recipient.
I can see why these people say things like this, though. They have to. The fundies take the position that God is perfect and everlasting and eternal and constant and blameless and loving. Therefore he couldn't be the source of anything bad. Hunger and starvation is bad, therefore it can't be god's fault. Since it isn't god's fault, it must be yours.
And my family has always been active Christians, some of them would even qualify as fundie. I have vivid memories of going to bed hungry many times when I was a kid. It wasn't god's fault that the plant closed down and it took my dad 2 years to find a new job, but it wasn't our fault either. It just happened, and we delt with it. We believed, we had faith, and we went to bed hungry, so your "statement," JohnR7, is at best ignorant and at worst hateful and arrogant. Knowing what I know of you I suspect the latter.
And if my own experiences are not enough, I could send you pictures my cousin Sarah took when she worked for the Red Cross. One of them is Christian church in Ethiopia. It is filled with dead people. People who starved to death, in church, when the land went sour and the crops failed. They went to church to pray, and their faith was strong. So strong they stayed in that church until they died...of EMPTY STOMACHES.
There were 24 people in that church. 15 of them were children.
I used to think you were a fool, JohnR7. Now I know you are a degenerate, arrogant, egocentric, misantrope. My hat's off to you, sir. You have proved evolution by demonstrating that it works in reverse as well.
"Man does not live by bread alone" -- but the bread's still got to be there, too. Man does not live by fantasy alone, either -- in fact, he'll die a lot sooner.
~David D.G.
That is the single most ignorant thing that JohnR7 has ever said. This goes beyond flaunting is scientific illiteracy and bizzarre ideas. This is just plain stupid, offencive and dangerous.
A normal person: "Look at those poor starving people in Africa"
JohnR7: "Yeah, lets look at them for a while. Goes to show you what happens when you don't believe in God"
This asshole reminds me of the nutcase who told me (during the Ethiopian Famine of the mid 80's) that we should not send aid to them because they weren't Christian. When I pointed out that the Ehiopians were christian since the time when our (northern european) ancestors were worshiping trees he refused to believe me.
Jerks like JohnR7 are too busy loudly broadcasting thier so called faith that they forget to follow the tenents of that faith.
A fundy's ignorance in science is usually eclipsed by their ignorance in their own fucking religion.
JohnR7, obey Jesus who said, "sell all that you have and follow me."
Let us know how it goes and how hungry you get, from a borrowed computer.

They forgot to bring a piece of bread and a fish to get that miracle going.
On a less-recent note, weren't most monks (not talking about high-level catholic bishop types here, but the guys who were 'proper' monks) frequently starving? I seem to recall reading some rather nifty, if disturbing, historical research into the lives of the Average Monk that really made you wonder why ANYONE would follow them. Starving, sick, self-abusive, living in miserable conditions... *twitch* As usual, JohnR7 manages to say something that has NO truth, present or past.
Long-haired preachers come out every night,
Try to tell you what's wrong and what's right;
But when asked how 'bout something to eat
They will answer in voices so sweet
You will eat, bye and bye,
In that glorious land above the sky;
Work and pray, live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky when you die
Joe Hill, 1911
You haven't been to an American Indian reservation or travelled around much in the poorer areas of the American Appalachian Mountains, the South and Southwest, have you, JohnR7?
Better yet - make a pilgrimage to Africa or the Middle East, especially the places which have been bombed out and/or embargoed and tell them what you just posted here, John.
um, actually this quote goes against one of the commandments. except most people don't realize to take the lord's name in vain is actually to promise something or else "god strike me down" etc... But it is easy to take this quote out of context, perhaps the dude was meaning in the "spritual" sense of hungry?
And more than 200 million people in the world, in countries full of missionaries, are just making commedy. Guy, you´re just an idiot. I hope.
"You will eat, bye and bye
in that glorious land above the sky
work and pray, sleep on hay
You'll get pie in the sky when you die"
Lots of people are religious and starving, some of them are starving because they were told gawd will take care of them so they just sit around and pray instead of doing something to help themselves.
Reminds me of that proverb:
Help yourself and god will help you.
Or more precisely:
DO IT YOUR OWN DAMNED SELF!
I am reminded of a picture I saw of a village in Africa. In the middle of the city was a huge, beautiful cathedral... surrounded by mud huts and squalor. Those people had enough faith to waste themselves building that church, yet God lets them die hungry.
Confused?
