There were countless eye witnesses, far too many to be false. The resurrection of Jesus is one of the best supported events in human history.
Saying that he did not rise from the dead is like saying that Abraham Lincoln was never president of the USA. It's ridiculous and laughable, it shows the utter ignorance of atheists.

Um, outside of the NT, written at least 2 generations after the death of the "messiah", and one oblique reference in Josephus, which witnesses are your referring to?
Saying Jesus never rose from the dead is more like saying Abraham Lincoln never rose from the dead.
Have a nice day.

I would have to say that the 9/11 attacks is the best supported and document event in human history and we still have people who don't believe it. The Resurrection story has several eyewitnesses and depending on whose story you read the numbers fluctuate drastically. The four scripes of the gospels Mark, Mathew, John, and Luke can hardly agree on anything that happened and finally there is no physical solid evidence for anything.

So many countless eyewitnesses, yet not one contemporary historian wrote about it. Same goes for Jesus the "person".
To think that the bible is an accurate representation of history is ridiculous and laughable.
Your argument is full of shit. The fact is, is that there are no sources, other than the gospels which document Jesus' resurrection. No one, other than those who had a stake in this belief saw it. Unlike the Presidency of Lincoln, which is clearly documented in hundreds of different documents and sources.
I have a book that tells of four thousand people who saw my descent from heaven in the arms of winged angels who said that I was to become supreme ruler of the world when I came of age. All of these witnesses are conviently unavailable for comment, so why don't you just start bowing to me already?
C'mon, I have a book that says it, it was written by God himself and trascribed by my mom.
Conservatively, 1.2 million Americans sincerely believe they have been abducted by aliens.
Far to many to be false, surely one of the best supported events in human history.
The only witnesses, so far, of his resurrection were Mary Magdalaine first, and the Apostles second. So, that makes 13 people, not thousands of eyewitness(and neither of them were). Second, the only account for those "witnesses" we have, is a book written like 60 years after his death. So, take it as the church has always said it is, as a matter of FAITH, not science.

Alright, show us the testimonies of, say, one thousand of them. Too hard? How about five hundred? One hundred?
We'll wait.
If you're interested I can sell you a scroll with a picture showing Jesus rising from the dead, draw by someone whose close relative spoke to someone who heard his neighbor's cousin was there at the time (very cheap, make me an offer) - how much proof do you want!!!
Didn't anyone ever read the Passover Plot where Jesus is supposed to have arranged his crucifixion and removal alive from the cross. Normally men would last for days on the tree. He was on it for only three hours and suddenly was dead.... Room for interpretation here.
As to witnesses, the gospels were written decades after the events they purport to describe. Memories are selective and will adjust facts to suit present needs.
A zombie-believer calling others ignorant. This shit can't be real. If it is real, it is definitely time for a good old-fashioned purge. Perhaps I can use my biblically-inspired demonic powers to raise up the ghost of Stalin to get things rolling, before the stupid kills us all.
The difference is nobody has an incentive to lie about Abraham Lincoln's presidency; whereas, history is replete with charlatans claiming they speak for God. If someone tells you Willie Barkley was the vice president under Truman, you're apt to believe him if he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. If he tells you the 89 Civic he's trying to sell you only has 28,000 original miles on it, you question him a little more closely, unless you're a sucker.
So what do you do if your parents tell you to bet your entire future on a story they heard that was supposedly written by some anonymous guys 1,900 years earlier and recopied repeatedly and edited by rich and powerful people who had dissenters burned alive, claiming some guy named Jesus was the son of God who rose from the dead and left them in charge?
No, there are supposedly lots of eyewitnesses to Jesus's miracles. Arguments from The Bible are circular logic.
The Qu'ran reports Iblis (the Islamic Satan) refused to bow down to Adam as if that were fact as well.
It's curious, because the NT itself mentions only Mary Magdaleine, the eleven Apostles(remember Judas?)and a couple of disciples. In the best case, it's no more than 50 eyewitnesses, not 100. Not even the Bible itself agrees with you and it's funny, since all those testimonies were collected by guys who admit that they never met Jesus personally.
Oh, I have more countless eyewitnesses than you do who have seen The Santa Claus ! Everyone who've seen Santa Claus raise your hands! See? So many have seen Santa so it's got to be true! I won, you failed! Btw, nice argumentum ad numerum...
Sometimes I wonder how many people walked around in those times claiming to be the messiah. Let's assume it's more than one, and Jesus as an archetype is a conglomeration of some of the most memorable ideas of each.
As likely happened with each self-proclaimed messiah, their followers dispersed when something happened and the aforementioned messiah was prevented from preaching and teaching.
As a result of this, the only acceptable definition of the resurrection of Jesus that I will accept, is the idea that his ideas didn't die when those followers renounced him.
There were also countless eyewitnesses when Harry Potter came out of the Triwizard Maze. Saying that he did not come out of the Maze is like saying that Jesus did not rise from the dead.
Btw, wasn't there just three women that went to the grave and found it empty? Or, are there different stories in the different Gospels? Almost as if the four "eyewitnesses" all saw different things, and that eyewitness accounts are the least reliable evidence of anything...
There isn't even scientific evidence that Jesus ever existed, silly! That's how "best supported" one single event in his life is.
Confused?
