(This person started a thread asking why torture wasn't considered a reliable means of extracting information. When given a bunch of replies explaining why, this was their response.)
Well say what you want but I highly doubt the CIA and the like would be wasting so much time, money and resources to something that hardly had any effect.
I believe torture is very much justified when dealing with sub-human scum. You're talking about men that can't control their orgasms hence making their women cover from head to toe. Men that believe they are getting many virgins in heaven. Only mass lunatics with severe evolutionary deformities could believe such garbage.
Honestly, I think they aren't doing enough. Torture isn't just physical but psychological. Take things your enemy hates the most and see what happens.
Imagine how quickly men in the middle east would talk if they had to constantly endure being tortured by a WOMAN, while watching her ****/**** all over a bunch of Korans. There could be no worse punishment for those sick ***** un-evolved humans that live over there.

Why not? Fundies have wasted a LOT of time, money and resources on 'pray away the gay'!
This from a guy who calls himself PeaceAndLove
**** *****, and ******* on you, P&L!

Would they? In their shoes, I'd reflect on your evident depravity and feel even more justified in my course of action.
actually, torture works just fine. at convincing the world at large you're an evil bastard who'll use terror tactics to get people to pretend to behave. if that's all you're interested in, torture away.
if you want to get reliable information out of people, though, torture is the opposite of useful; it gets people to actively think up lies they hope will make you stop torturing them.
Gotta love the irony of the username here.

All religions have a tendency to believe stupid shit and the more fundie groups to enforce stupid shit. Like, say, Christians who believe a woman is sinning if she wears pants, Christians who believe Jesus passes out crowns and gives everyone a free mansion when they get to heaven, etc.
Maybe that's it. If fundie Muslims are sex-crazed, then fundie Christians are wealth-crazed.

Is this an admission of your BDSM golden shower/scat fetish, by any chance?
And that's basically the shit they've done to Muslim prisoners at places like Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. You don't think they've have Korans being torn up and shat upon? You don't think they've had women doing the "enhanced interrogations"?
1) Yes, there are worse punishments.
-Threats of a religious nature
-Refusal of martyrdom
-Making it clear that they would simply be left in a forgotten hole
2) Why torture doesn't work:
-Some people will say anything to make it stop.
-Some people will lie under torture.
-Some people will have false information, therefore even if they aren't lying, the intel is useless.
-Some people LIKE being tortured.
Got an old Dept. of the Army Intelligence/Interrogation manual* one year for Christmas, and even in the 70s, they knew the tactics you support would be inefficient. And if you seriously believe that the government wouldn't waste time and resources on something ineffective... Have you heard of the F35?
*Amazing the things you find at used bookstores...

I highly doubt you know much about the CIA.
Especailly since they did exactly that.
Well, you can ask John McCain.
I'm suuuuure the Vietcong weren't waterboarding him just for teh lulz . [/hyper-sarcasm]

You really do want to create a bunch of terrorists, don't you? I mean, it's hard enough to convince the world that the United States wasn't at war with Islam the past decade, then people like you come up with ideas like this.
When tortured the victim commonly confesses to their crimes, so it must be true! All of those tortured under the Khmer Rouge for having glasses were in fact CIA agents.
You can try an attempt to dehumanise the subjects, but I suspect that many of your potential sparring partners will accept your idea that Muslims are sub-human or evolutionary deformed (whatever that is supposed to mean).
in general, I agree with the commenters here but I do believe some people are truly and purely evil. would anyone complain if it was Hitler being tortured? some people are so evil, so inhuman that anything you do to them will still leave you on the moral high ground by default.
@#1847686
Yes, I would complain if Hitler were tortured. But I prefer efficiency. Fantasies about inflicting horror on the truly deserving aside, a slit throat and an unmarked mass grave is plenty for dealing with Hitler-level evil. Eliminate the threat without ceremony, without glory, and without publicity.
Adding suffering versus subtracting it is a simple choice. No matter how appealing torturing someone like Dean Saxton is. Fine to imagine it, fine to feel he deserves to suffer, rather cathartic to picture it in detail, but in the really-real world... a quiet, quick elimination and consignment to being a footnote in the Big Book of Utter Bastards is enough.
Fortunately, that kind of evil is damned rare. The asshat OP isn't talking about that level of evil. It seems they're just talking about anyone that happens to both A) oppose his side and B) claim to be Islamic.

Oh, like the government would never do something like that ...[/sarcasm]
"I believe torture is very much justified when dealing with sub-human scum"
Not so funny if you consider that the other side might hold a similar view - except they conider you to be the sub-human scum.
But that's not the question, is it? Does torture work? No, it doesn't, because people will say whatever they think will make you stop. They may even start to believe it afterwards.
Honestly, I think they aren't doing enough. Torture isn't just physical but psychological. Take things your enemy hates the most and see what happens.

Honestly, this could have come straight out of an interview with Donald Trump.
