My question would be, if he's not credible then why is he so popular? And his ministry is growing? Perhaps he's got something going? Remember "street smarts" has just as much going for it as "the educated". I've read alot of stuff written by ppl well educated and they aren't as smart as ppl think they are.

If you want to be a popular leader, you must tell people exactly what they want to hear. Kent does just this. If you are will to be fooled, then people like him will do so easily. His kind of sophisty isn't intelligence, just manipulation.

He tells stories that stupid people want to hear, to make them part with their money and give it to him. He's not "street smart", he's a fraud.

If Hovind is so smart, why did he refuse at least two challenges to debates on the internet?
The obvious answer is that he refuses to submit himself to forums where he cannot make appeals to crowd support and where people can check the accuracy of his statements as soon as he makes them. However, I am sure that you have another answer.
Street smarts only work in that enviroment, as they're merely an understanding of the area refered to. Street people get their asses handed to them in redneck bars all the time.
Hovinds not an expert in either area he claim expertise in. Science and Tax-laws.
