Yes, it's unreasonable to assume that atheism does not just happen. Scientific evidence and logical reasoning are not sufficient to give rise to atheism. Some event must have caused atheism such as; abusive upbringing, use of antidepressants, partial insanity, certain additives and toxins in food such at BT, ERDA, amoxicilin and other substances known to contribute to improper executive function of the human brain.
These are all neutral cases that show the causation of atheism and prove it is a consequence of mental deficiency.

The Irony Meter shop in town just exploded and took out 3 square blocks! o.o
Also, I was born an atheist and I've remained an atheist for all of my 35 years.
Atheism does, in fact, "just happen," since that is the default setting for all new humans. God delusions don't appear until the first religious software is installed. Luckily some of us are incompatible with it.
Wow... and here I thought all the time I've spent in the hospital, they would have found something wrong in my brain, if there was such a thing. Turns out my brain works perfectly fine.
Yours, on the other hand, we can't be so sure of.
So what about people who have a different religion to you? Are they crazy too? What about people who are of a different denomination? Different church? Different opinion?
Bad science by the way. Some event must have caused atheism. Here are some things. They caused atheism. You did not demonstrate causation, you just listed some things!
Whyfor do fundies attribute their on inanity and stupidity to others?
The abuse by 'religion' and religious people will make people rethink theism.
The rest is just typical made up fundie junk science.
abusive upbringing, ------ Nope
use of antidepressants, -- Nope
partial insanity, -------- Nope (yes, that is confirmed)
BT, ---------------------- Doesn't do anything
amoxicilin --------------- That's a antibiotic, but nope.
And yet, I'm an atheist. Hmmmm....
I wonder what could have caused that?
Read that first sentence again. He's right, it IS unreasonable to assume that atheism does not just happen.
Or if you cancel the negatives, it is reasonable to assume that atheism just happens.
Tada, Justintsmiths contradicts the rest of his statement by completely failing to understand logic.
Well, in my case, I heard some bible stories that even at my young age made me wonder at mom's story telling ability. Then I met some fundies, and saw some other crazy people. I read a few pages of the bible. I was stationed down south for 4 years. Took an I.Q. test, scored 153, yup, brain works. Started watching politics at start of Bush admin. Discovered the internet.
Not much chance of me missing out on atheism.
"Some event must have caused atheism such as;abusive upbringing, use of antidepressants, partial insanity, certain additives and toxins in food such at BT, ERDA, amoxicilin and other substances known to contribute to improper executive function of the human brain."
Or just, you know, not being indoctrinated, and being able to readily access information showing that religious claims are full of crap. But, whatever...
"Atheism doesn't just happen" would logically mean that *non-atheistic* feelings just happen *naturally* - you're just born and cry to the tune of Mozart's Requiem and your first words are "Jesus died".
Atheism can happen naturally. Organised religion is organised. DUH.
I think in every psychological measure, all kinds of theisms could be counted to be more insane than atheism.
If I'd have a imaginary friend which I could "sense" everywhere and to whom I'd talk to and who tells me what to do via other peoples writings everyone would say I'm insane but if I tell to them that my imaginary friend is really Christian God everyone would just say "Oh, well then it's alright, sorry about the disturbance."
It is unreasonable to assume that stupidity and gullibility just happen. What could give rise to such moronic lack of sensible reasoning?
Brain-washing, anyone? Having started with a significant level of mental deficiency, of course.
Yes, it's unreasonable to assume that atheism does not just happen. Scientific evidence and logical reasoning are not sufficient to give rise to atheism. Some additional quality must have caused atheism such as; progressive upbringing, use of intellect, semi-resonability, certain additives to the standard rote indoctrination in mainstream culture such as literature, science, respect for others, and other substances known to contribute to decent executive function of a human life.
These are all neutral cases that show the causation of atheism and prove it is a consequence of mental normalcy.
I'm pretty certain that I haven't been exposed to any more additives or toxins than the average person, and I haven't ever used antidepressants, been abused as a child or suffered from "partial insanity". So I'll go with evidence and reason instead.
And, for starters, reason tells me that your "proof" for atheism being a consequence of mental deficiency is somewhat flawed.
Amoxicillin? The antibiotic they gave me when I had bronchial-pneumonia as a kid? That shit? Hell and no. That stuff could have made me an atheist only if it had a time machine, son.
Y'wanna know why I, and many others, are atheist?
Simple. The greatest cure for Christianity is the Bible. Dunno who said it first, but it's true. If you read it with a mature mind and full anchor in that little thing called "reality", you see that the book is just a load of shit.
Confused?
