We also could have been created? by God. Most Americans already believe the latter
Reality isn't determined by majority rules, and neither is science.
Why not teach all theories about our existence?
You are aware that there or more theories than judeo-christian creationism and evolution, aren't you?
I have no problem teaching creationist theories in school, provided that it was taught in a comparative religions class and that all creation myths are taught, not just the christian one, and that none of them are taught as if they were scientific facts.
Let the individual decide which they believe
Are they not capable of doing that on their own in the first place? But you can't leave it up to a science class to have it determine if the ToE is right or creationism is, it's not the place of the high school science class to determine the scientific validity of any subject.
ONLY allowing evolution seems restricting and unfair to the student
Like I said before, you want to teach creationism then do it in a Comparative Religions class where it recieves equal treatment with all other creation myths. You can't teach creationism in science class because it is not science! Creationism, by it's very nature, cannot be tested, it makes no prediction and has no experiments or criteria that may be used to confirm it, and above all creationism is completely based nothing more than a contradictory narrative combined with impossible, unprovable, and outright disproven speculation to fill in the gaps.
If the student has further questions about the creation theory, ask dad/mom/uncle/pastor etc.
How about this instead:
If the student has further questions about the creation theory, ask dad/mom/uncle/pastor etc.
There is no need to drag religion into the school science cirriculum, or even into school in general. Religious education should be the responsibility of a child's parents and/or their church, abd I daresay you don't really want to have religion taught in school because it won't be your religion, it will be a homgenized, dumbed down, PC version of christianity that's designed to not appeal to or offend any particular denomination.
