i'm a Christian, and I don't know what the Bible views
What can be said to this that isn't painfully obvious?
So, you can't read, can't think, and base your life on what the guy at the front of the church says is in some ancient book.
I'll bet the Republicans are working on a way to clone you right now.
If God says abusing another person's inherent human rights and denying them personal freedom is okay, it's okay with me!
Dubya-tee-eff. I'm not entirely an atheist, but I still believe slavery is wrong and a completely awful thing.
So, as the bible says that Slavery is O.K., you must be Pro Slavery. It´s only consequent.
Of course it is really poor that you, as a christian, don´t know what the bible says about such important topics.
Btw. I hope you are also Pro stoning female rape victims if the rape happened within a city. And also pro marrying female rape victims to their rapists if the victims weren´t already engaged with someone else.

MehGuy, What if the bible says that YOU get to be the slave?
What then?

If he is a good christian, he will obey his master/s and be a good slave then. There are several passages within the Bible (NT, Paulus AFAIK) which cover this topic (i.e. behavior of a slave towards his master)
I don't know what the Bible views on slavery,
Well try reading your own fucking book once in a while.
But all atheists are immoral, right?
This is probably a Poe, though.
But i'm a Christian, and I don't know what the Bible views on slavery ...
Find a concordance and look it up, perhaps? It's not like you consider it a book full of lies or anything...
My views on slavery are different then yours probably.
I do not see what is so wrong with my comment? If you believed in the Bible, wouldn't you agree with anything it says?
And no, the slavery debates are still going. I still have not gone on a side. I mean you have to deal with translation stuff.
Look when I look at slavery I see something else, then you probably see.
I hope that it gets settled soon though.
But you many of you are atheists, which I can see what you see, but I really can't debate with you about slavery.
Look, if slavery is alright, then you need to look at it in a good light.
The Bible says to treat your slaves fairly.
I don't know what the Bible's view on slavery is. I really can't just take my Bible and see it from there, there are things like translations.
I mean God could tell me, but I don't think I have enough faith right now. I never claimed to be a strong Christian.
I don't know the Bible's views on slavery, but if it is right, you have to see it through God's eyes. I can see why Slavery is fine. Just visit me on Christian Teens if you want to hear more.
Also the Bible says you have to treat your slaves fairly.
No if the Bible said slavery is fine, then it would be right.
Yes I know, you will probably respond God is not real and stuff.
Please be Poe, pleasepleaseplease!
"If you believed in the Bible, wouldn't you agree with anything it says?"
Shouldn't you read the Bible first, before you believe what it says? If you are to follow every rule in it, you ought to know it by heart, or you'll have to carry it around with you everywhere. And that is one damn heavy book.
@S53
"What's funny is that MehGuy is an Atheist now lol."
Well, if the ex-athlete, ex-Olympic gold medal winner and ex-born-again Christian Jonathan Edwards can become an Atheist, then anyone can.
All it takes is that leap of logic. Or in Jonathan's case, a triple jump.

Confused?
