Can you give an example [of non-religious arguments against theft and murder] or is this just in your Atheist fantasy world?

Reciprocity? The foundation for human rights as we know it?
Jesus didn't invent reciprocity, you know.
In small words (so you can understand). Observation and experience tell us that theft and murder are not conducive to a flourishing and harmonious society. Even in stone-age society, it would have been obvious that if you kill your next-door neighbour, it's likely his friends or family will kill you. If you steal something, it's likely you will be stolen from. Nothing about god, just good sense to promote a healthy society.
Next dumb question please?
Wait wait - the only reason you know killing and stealing a bad is because god fucking told you. You're a fucking automoton that has no real morality of your own.
Your god is outsourcing his morality.
Good people are good because that's what they've learned makes the best society. LEARNING - ever fucking hear of it? If you're being good for heaven points or out of fear of hell than you're really just an evil son of a bitch with a complete facade.
The only thing keeping you from raping and pillaging every one you see is because god will get you if you do?
Are you telling me Christians are just chomping at the bit to harm everyone around them and only this fairy tale keeps the rest of us safe?
This explains your sadistic end of the world scenario, when all bets are off, and your god finally allows you to really enjoy the suffering of others
I do not want my stuff to be stolen, therefore I don't steal other people's stuff.
I do not want to be murdered, so I refrain from murdering others.
See, no religion, just common sense.
I can give you a simple example: I'm not a cunt, and I don't believe that most people, whatever their religion or lack of it, are cunts.
Good enough for you?
1) Theft and Murder cause suffering and harm. Especially in the case of murder, harm which cannot be undone. When I kill someone, I have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. Nobody can bring a dead person back to life.
2) A society full of theft and murder very quickly disintegrates, because nobody trusts his neighbours anymore. Trust is essential for a functioning and healthy society.
3) "Prisoner's Dilemma Problem": To cooperate results in a higher reward for all. When somebody starts to exploit the others, the others start to follow, and in the end everybody loses.
Three examples of completely non-religious arguments for ethics and morality. All of those based on reality, none on any "fantasy world".
The Code of Ur-Nammu is the oldest known tablet containing a law code surviving today. It was written in the Sumerian language circa 2100 BC-2050 BC . [Wiki]
The Book of Kings relates how a "law of Moses" was discovered in the Temple during the reign of king Josiah (r. 641609 BC). This book is mostly identified as an early version of the Book of Deuteronomy, perhaps chapters 5-26 and chapter 28 of the extant text. [Wiki]
He's asking for arguments against theft and murder outside of the religious world, but it doesn't count unless it's from outside the atheist world as well?
They still don't seem to understand the "a" part of "atheist"
Confused?
