Why would someone who is unsaved and not a Christian, think they are being "open minded", when they clearly outnumber the number of saved Christians? To be open minded is to go against what the majority insists. We know that the majority does NOT believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Is the majority always right?
Indeed it is those like me who know that Jesus is the only way to heaven, that are open minded enough to understand that this present world is based upon a lie from Satan.
Damning yourself to eternal hell isn't open mindedness. It is sheer stupidity.

You can't say, "I'm open minded to all the options out there". There's only TWO options in existence. You are either for Jesus, or you are for Satan. There is no third option. You're not "open minded" at all.

What the... so being "open-minded" means you have to be a minority, or somehow rebellious or contrary? And he, who says you're either good or bad, is open-minded???
Fundie Word Redefinition Project!!!!

No, it means realizing that there can usually be multiple perspectives on the same issue--and that not all of them are of equal validity.

The world is black and white, and I'm not colorblind!

Gaah. I really aggravates me when people use Yahoo! Answers for stuff like this. They're not actually asking a question, they just want to spout off their opinions and have other people agree with them.
And each time it's the same: the "best answer" is always something like: "ZOMG! You are soooo right!!11!! Totally!!"
We've had three or four of these in the past couple of months.
I swear it's some sort of social masturbation.

Mix one cup contradiction with what Christians say in other contexts (are Christians in the majority or not?), one cup FWRP, and one cup Pascal's Wager. Beat until all mushy. Place in 350-degree oven until half-baked.
Wow, not a friggin clue what "open minded" means.
Hey, crotch-lobster! "Open minded" means "willing to listen to and consider positions contrary to your own or unfamiliar to you."
It doesn't mean "going against the majority." If that were the case, the WBC would be the most open minded people in America.
As for your "either-or" proposition, that's only valid if you presuppose that Christianity is right, the Bible is 100% accurate, Satan exists, and everyone except the fundamentalist Christians are wrong. That's one assload of presuppositions to be basing your "open minded" proposition on.
And to put things such as "either you're on my side or against me" is open mindness?, what dictionary are you using(for that matter)?. And also your definition of accepting Jesus. It's true that globally, only 1/3 of the people are Christian, but, of course, if you keep on narrowing options even more............
If you consider open-mindness to be in a minority, practically, at a global level, all ideologies and religions would be "open minded". And following your logic, all the guys who wear a tinfoil hat and stay in their mother's basement are openminded.
No, to be open-minded is to be willing to review new and/or different points of view, exactly UNLIKE those who cling to religious dogmas. Open-mindedness does not at all imply that on will accept any specious assertion, just that one will look at the evidence.
Sounds like someone has a problem with the definition of "open-minded". We definitely need to start a "Dictionaries for Fundies" project. Actually there are myriad options in existence besides "saved" Christian and Satanist. Any other religion is an option. Atheism is always an option. Hell, come to think of it a lot of Christians don't buy the "saved"(act like an asshole, but get a "get out of hell free" card) concept. They consider it close-minded stupidity.

No. I believe the word you're looking for is non-conformist.
Also, here in the U.S. non-Christians, (whether saved or not, from whatever it is they might need saving from) do not outnumber Christians who almost universally believe themselves to be "saved".
CJ is completely correct.*
*"Correct," in this case, has been redefined to mean "completely wrong." Hey, if he can do it, so can I.
CJ's so open-minded his brain fell out.
See, there it goes. Flee, little brain! May you find a better head someday!
So gay people are pretty openminded, hm? So are Buddhists, Wiccans, and all the other minority religions in America.
And no, stubbornly going against the crowd is just as closeminded as stubbornly going with it.

Sign of a Cult. With or or against us ultimatums. They leave no room for passive believers or wafflers. They want the die hard fanatics, who can be whipped into a frenzy at a moment's notice. Easier to milk them, and use them.
Confused?
