I think this guy is not necessarily fundie, just ethnocentric. To begin with, THE LION IS NOT THE SYMBOL OF ENGLAND, I mean, it´s the rose. And anyway, those animals have other significance in Daniel´s time and culture. Second, Russia IS NOT a prominent country as it used to be during the Cold War ANYMORE and the UN is absolutely irrelevant for Daniel. In fact, the bear is the symbol of the USSR, which is totally disolved.

Ha! I'm just funning on that MST episode, of course. As a Literature Prof., I have actually assigned some of the Kalevala to my students, because it's so much better than that lame movie suggests, though I admit to loving the episode very, very much.
