[Concerning Pete Stark admitting his lack of belief in God]
He should be impeached and removed from office. Our founders thought so. Any man that believes in no higher authority than the laws of Man, is an amoral scoundrel and is unfit for public office.

Constitution of the United States of America, Article VI, paragraph 3:
"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. "
Next time, maybe do a little research?

Sorry, but, and I speak in behalf of Jefferson and Paine, funding non-Christian fathers, following your logic, why we need constitutions and laws IN THE FIRST PLACE?, if there is a first ammendment, which is the common point of reference?, YES DEAR, THE LAW OF MAN.
Pete Stark has been in office since 1973, probably before you were even born. I don't recall him ever trying to screw pages, take drugs, ask for his wife to sign divorce papers on her deathbed, cross dress, or engage in über-corruption like many Republican officials, candidates, and über-supporters I have seen.
However, he does advocate peace, and I know that scares you.
Rolf:
If you ever bother to READ the U.S. Constitution, you'll see it says:
"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. "
He has every bit as much right to be an atheistic Congressman; and until you've actually read some actual history (and not that revisionist crap you fundies seem to be so fond of reading) I suggest you stop commenting on what you think the Constitution "does" and "does not" say.
LISTEN AND LEARN.
Stay in the fucking hill country. And read the goddamn Constitution. The idea that morals come from any sort of deity - YOUR deity, no fucking less - is pure, raw shit. If you need a giant skygod to hang you over a pit of fire to not be an "amoral scoundrel", then you have no fucking right to judge anyone.
TREATY! OF! GODDAMNED! TRIPOLI!
The U.S. has signed DOCUMENTS stating that it is not a Christian nation, so no amount of whining and railing will make it one.
Thank for that einlightening post, "ROLF of the HILL COUNTRY!"
I just "ROLFED" in my mouth - Well, only a little bit.
BTW - I have had the great honor to vote for Representative Stark - and if I still resided in California, I would continue to do so.
DinDC - Yet Another Unitarian - Just Like Pete Stark.
Typical loudmouth hillbilly.
Scream loud enough and maybe people won't notice your argument is inherently flawed, dipshit.
Dunno about Pete Stark, but Tony Stark once took on a god - Loki - and proved he was unfit for existence.
...to say nothing of Dr. Bruce Banner, a.k.a The Hulk. 'Puny God!'. Now ROFL up the FAIL CUNTY.
