Which sins are atheists guilty of?
The Bible is clear that there are no honest atheists and that unbelievers will be without excuse at the time of judgement.
The only question is, which sins are atheists guilty of? Here are some possibilities (some overlap):
-Pride
-Dishonesty
-Anger
Feel free to chime in.

Anger? This from the deity who sent a pack of bears to maul forty children to shreds because they made fun of poor Elijah's bald head. Dishonesty? This from the god who created things like starlight, fossils, and DNA in a purposely misleading way for the sole purpose that even more of us wind up in hell. That's a start. How's that for chiming in?
Oh hey, news flash! The Bible claims that anyone who doesn't believe in the Bible is a sinner.
YAWN.
Got something to say that isn't in the top 10 of the No Shit List?
(EDIT: And by no shit I mean no shit that the Bible says that, not no shit that the statement is true.)
Pride: 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Dishonesty: Ezekiel 26:3 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.
26:4 They shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock
(never happened)
Anger: Genesis 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
You were saying what now?
-Pride 'God's chosen people', anyone?
-Dishonesty Prove it. Prove to me that atheists lie more frequently than theists. I'm waiting.
-Anger Mirror, mirror. I've seen quite a few angry theists. As a matter of fact, most all humans are capable of getting angry. It's not a 'sin', it's a natural reaction.
I can say, without pride, that I am an honest person and also that I outgrew anger a good few years ago now - due mostly to a combination of empathy and the recognition that it is a destructive, irrational and childish emotion that rarely achieves anything, a leftover from our evolutionary past to be controlled if not discarded altogether.
It's my word against yours, mcart909, and I can also say, rationally and without pride, that most people who know me would agree with my statement, not yours.
Ok, I'll chime in.
-Logic
-Rationality
-Objectivity
Yes, huge sins! You're right. Flying Spaghetti Monster, come save me!
-Pride - Like putting a cross or a fish in your car's back window?
-Dishonesty - Like saying that all fags should die, then meeting some dude in a motel for some pole smoking?
-Anger - Like getting pissed of when someone points out the evidence for evolution, and you have none to prove god exists?
And what about fundies?, as far as I´m concerned, those were the sins of Pharisees, which Jesus found them guilty of. And they were not atheists by far.
Would my contempt for mcart909 fall under Pride or under Wrath? Anyway, my favourite "sins" are Sloth, Gluttony and Lust (more or less in this order), but I'd commit them just as much if I was a Xian. The only difference would be that I might guilt trip myself over it from time to time if I actually believed in the concept of sin.
Wait, anger is a sin, now? Damn, your God has sinned even more than I thought.
@ Chan. Isn't it actually, "Hell, I'm a fan of all seven"? But still, you win!
Well, I read a book that says that people who aren't atheists are guilty of these sins:
- unquestioning submission to authority
- lack of reason and logic
- persecution of people who don't share their beliefs
Do you care? No? Well now you know how atheists feel about your book.
-Pride
-Dishonesty
-Anger
Now I have to get another irony meter.
Most folks I know don't care enough about religion to call themselves atheists.
Confused?
