Religion is necessary, if it includes Jesus and the ghost! The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become. Evil and communism is just reason run amok. Praise the Lord Jesus!

And the less likely you were to use a computer, and therefore, this service, if somebody hand´t use their logic and reason, don't you think?
The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become.
Wow. That would make Dan Lafferty, the Mormon fundamentalist who eviscerated a 15 month old girl with a boning knife and then killed her mother in some sort of wacky religious "blood atonement", one of the best, Communist-hating Americans in history.
"Religion is necessary, if it includes Jesus and the ghost!"
Do you have any sociological studies to back up that claim? Uh huh, thought not.
"The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become."
Reason = evil?
Rational thought = communist?
Atheism = anti-American?
Check again, dipshit.
"Evil and communism is just reason run amok. Praise the Lord Jesus!"
Belief in many of the tenets of Xianity are reason run amok.
Plenty of evil deeds have been done in the name of Xianity by Bible-believing Xians.
Praise reason and critical thinking.
Well, I'm not exactly anti-american, just un-american. I'm not a communist, but I am indeed evil. So, how rational am I?
Yeah let's play the generalization game!
Let's see... Islamic Radicals = monotheistic, fundamentalist, homophobic; therefore, the more monotheistic, fundamentalist and homophobic you become, the more the terrorists win?!?
The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become.
Sing it, sibling! The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil (by which we mean "defining people as more important than principles"), communist (by which we mean "everyone deserves a living wage") and anti-American (by which we mean anti-Bush) you become. Word!
I, for one, welcome our new, logical, atheist, Communist comrades.

Please respect my right to believe in "fairytales", Ok, Starcluster?
To be fair, you believe in something he doesn't. Why should you get special treatment? if your god isn't a fairytale, then you must have proof. If you don't have proof, you have faith in a fairytale. If you can prove starcluster wrong, then by all means, I'd love to hear. But the idea that you automatically get respect because you believe in the unknown is for the fucking birds.
As an atheist I am subjected to christmas songs, prayer meetings, praying at baptisms, weddings, funerals etc. ad nauseum. We have sat by and had to have religion hoisted upon us for many years. Just because you are in this generic group of head-bobbers doesn't give you priveliged status. I was in your camp and I know what I'm talking about.
I believe that one of the most respected members here is Sandman who is a christian. He knows my views, I know his. We would never try to 'convert' each other, we respect each other however (at least on my side that's how it is). And likewise, no one is trying to tell you what to think or believe, that's the job of the church. But some kind of a pass because of your "personal relationship with (insert deity of choice here)", you got another thing coming.
Dude, it's not 1950 anymore. It's about time you realize that, in the truest meaning of the word, the United States is one of the most "communist" nations on the face of the planet. And so are our friends, the British, the Canadians, and the Germans!
The big bad Soviet Union, the People's Republic of China, the DRNK, and all the rest were never actually "communist." They were (and in some cases still are) repressive totalitarian dictatorships and committee-run elitist oligarchies.
The US, with it's systems of welfare, unemployment insurance, social security, medicare/medicade, and all the rest, has gotten far closer to the Marxist ideal than any of them ever did. (And what do ya know, no "withering of the State" has occurred, much as some of us would like the current one to do some bloody withering...)
If it weren't for people being "reasonable and rational," we'd all still be sitting in caves, in the dark, hiding in fear from thunderstorms.
The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become. Evil and communism is just reason run amok.
So, you're against being reasonable, and rational?
Redhunter: Thanks, couldn't have said it better myself, but I'm going to try.
J-Grans-Robin: I have all the respect in the world for your right to believe anything you want to believe. Doesn't mean I have to respect the belief itself. I was merely pointing out the irony in the original statement featured on this page. And according to it, which has basis in the bible, logic and reason are not to be used by believers. Why are they not to use these skills. Because that would lead one to surmise that god is not real and religion is bogus.
I respect your right to believe in god if that is what you desire, just as I respect a childs right to believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. But once they get to the age where logic and reason take over, it is useless to continue telling them these entities are real. It has always amazed me how humans can let go of the idea if the three characters I mentioned somewhere between the ages of 8 to 12, but have no problem holding on to the concept of some sky fairy that created all, knows all, and can do all when there is absolutely no evidence for it anywhere other than what one imagines in their mind to be.
Go ahead. Believe what you must. I don't expect you to respect my lack of believe, and you may call it whatever you want. But by the same token, you must respect my right to call yours horseshit if I so desire.
...so if you aren't an unpatriotic pinko nonbeliever, you're an irrational idiot? Well, shit, comrade, fuck the US and their silly God then.
The more atheistic, reasonable and rational you get, the more evil, communist and anti-American you become.
Thank god I'm not American!
I call Poe. Real fundies usually don't realize they are unreasonable and irrational. They are too...well, too unreasonable and irrational to recognize that. In other words, they are so stupid, they don't even know they are stupid. Definitely Poe.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
