I find it highly amusing how you pagans and atheists continually appeal to the LAW OF MOSES for your defense in attacking the word of God. Christians are under a NEW COVENANT, not old testament stoning laws. Christ fulfilled ALL the demands of the levitical and judicial laws on the cross by his sacrifice, we no longer need to observe such laws, but trust me if you don\'t repent, your final reward will be a LOT worse than stoning.

Objection 1: 90% of the Xian attacks against paganism are based on Exodus 18:11, which is part of...drumroll please...the Laws of Moses! If you truly believe that the Laws of Moses are no longer valid, then stop using them to justify your hatred.
Objection 2: Most pagans and atheists prefer to avoid using your Bible as the basis for our apologetics anyway, because WE DON'T RECOGNIZE A SINGLE WORD OF IT. The only mention of the Bible we generally make in our defense is simply to point out that it contradicts itself literally DOZENS of times.
Perhaps it is true that we reap what we sow, but in the case of Christianity, they have repaid a hundred years of persecution with 1500 years of blood. I'd say we've taken all we really need to take from you people.
So laws against homosexuality no longer apply, right?
Also I love how you disabled comments on that video. Scared of talkback?
"I find it highly amusing how you pagans and atheists continually appeal to the LAW OF MOSES for your defense in attacking the word of God."
And I find it funny so many Christians use it to justify their hate
" Christians are under a NEW COVENANT, not old testament stoning laws."
Christ never broke the Old Testament, the rules are still there but the punishment is lighter
"Christ fulfilled ALL the demands of the levitical and judicial laws on the cross by his sacrifice"
If he knew he wasn't going to die it wasn't sacrifice
" we no longer need to observe such laws, but trust me if you don\'t repent, your final reward will be a LOT worse than stoning"
Then why bring them up? And can you prove it won't be?
This is not even REMOTELY convincing. Christians are continuously using the old testament to justify their hatred, bigotry, and ignorance. Religion is nothing but a way of lying to yourself, I suppose, so it's not amazing they lie to others as well.
New covenant, is that kinda like pissing on the old contract and forcing people to sign onto a new one?
Of course, Old Testament passages are used at your convenience when you feel the need to justify racism and bigotry. I spy a contradiction here.
I find it highly amusing how you pagans and atheists continually appeal to the LAW OF MOSES
Not as amusing as creationists trying to use science, though.
Why did god decide to change the laws and covenant then? Did god just mess up in the OT and decided to rectify his mistake?
Or could it simply be that *gasp* you're trying to make Christianity not be seen as a religion of animal-sacrificers and woman stoners?
Doesn't it stand to reason that any law passed down by God Himself would be a perfect and just law, in ANY time period?
Trust me, there is very little to connect the ancient religion of the Hebrews to modern Christianity other than bullshit theology.
Get rid of the OT, and the obvious bullshit from the NT.
No, I won't trust you on that last bit, I think you're full of shit.
"...Christ fulfilled ALL the demands of the levitical and judicial laws on the cross by his sacrifice..."
- This is absolutely perfect. I couldn't have asked for more. Now I know why it's OK to eat shellfish, get my hair cut etc. All of these were, under Leviticus, abominations. So I no longer abominate if I wear a garment of two threads. Wow!
And the really good news is that all the other Leviticus abominations must fall as well! Of course that must also includes the prohibition on homosexuality.
Who'da thunk it!
Matthew Ch 5 says different:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
"don\'t"
What the fuck is this?
If Christians are under a NEW COVENANT, then the OLD COVENANT is null and void, but if the OLD COVENANT is null and void, then the Bible is not inerrant, and you are not a Fundie... and you are lying... but if you're not a fundie, then you are telling the truth...
"You lie, but if everything you say is a lie then you must be telling the truth, but you cannot be telling the truth because everything you say is a lie... you lie, you tell the truth, you Illogical! Illogical! Please explain! You are human! Only humans can explain their behavior! Please explain!"
"I am not programmed to respond in that area..."
How did he do that exactly? Also, stop quoting Leviticus when you talk about gay people.
Also:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. - Jesus [Matthew 5:17-20 NIV]
Oh shit. Looks like you better stop eating pork and grow a beard.
"Christians are under a NEW COVENANT, not old testament stoning laws"
Funny how God changes his mind on the finer, more violent points like that, huh? And you know that the old testament laws pertaining to death by stoning is invalid...how? Selective (in this case, broad) interpretation of Jesus's intervention against ONE single case of stoning?
Also: wheeeeee, hellfire!
Even if only the New Testament is applicable now, Christians have to keep the Old Testament in the Bible, because God was a naughty boy in those times and his crimes had to go on his permanent record.

It could be argued that the Law was fulfilled when Jesus was sacrificed, could it not
True, but it can just as easily be argued that Mohammed fulfilled more of the OT prophesies than Jesus did.
And the Jews have problems with both of them, of course.
In truth, the scriptures are so vague and ambiguously worded they can mean anything you want them to.
And your Christ also said to turn the other cheek, "judge not", and "love thy neighbor as yourself". You're missing the mark, there.
Actually, Christ never said the law was canceled - he said the exact opposite. He came to call Jews back to the true spirit of the Jewish law - he wasn't concerned with Gentiles. He repeatedly states this. You would know that if you ever read anything he said, but you probably prefer Paul. Did you ever think about why the apostles were still offering sacrifices at the temple after Christ ascended? Sheesh, read the book of Acts, moron.
trust me if you don\'t repent, your final reward will be a LOT worse than stoning.
So... you're saying that we're foolish to criticise the Old Testament since there are far more abhorrent practices that Christians support?
Um, okay, whatever floats your boat.
Confused?
