"No sex until marriage" doesn't work anymore, since people are getting married at an older age on average. In Bible times, people got married in their early teenage years, so no sex before marriage was an easy thing to follow. Nowadays people are waiting until their mid 20s to early 30s to get married. You can't expect people to go 25-30 years without sex. It's psychologically unhealthy. For some reason fundies never seem to grasp just how dumb the idea of "saving yourself" really is.

Except for gay marriage, all of the stuff you seem to think is new in society has always been around. Just because no one talked about out-of-wedlock pregnancy 30 years ago doesn't mean it wasn't happening. And you'll never convince me that EVERY couple waited until they were married to have sex. In other words, there has been alot more fucking going on in every era of civilization than you want to admit to yourself. If anything has changed, it's that people are no longer ashamed of their sexuality and hence they're more open about it.
Can we have a reason please? It's so easy to claim something as disgusting or immoral. I can say setting a porcelain plate on top of one's roof is disgusting and immoral but it means nothing unless I elaborate on the associated negative effects that the simple action has.
There's nothing quite wrong with abstinence either; but if one is going to put it up there on a pedestal, once again: one has to give a reason for it.

Erm, there has never been that much abstinence, ever. Yes, some hundred years ago brides were supposed to prove their virginity with bloody sheets on the day after the wedding, but blood can be obtained elsewhere too. When you lay the same importance on male virginity on the wedding night as you do on female virginity, then we can talk.

For various economic reasons people are no longer getting married when they are 15 or 16. They wait until the are done college and get established in a career...you know, get themselves set economically.
So lets say that people get married at 25 now. Do you really think it is a reasonable expectation for people to be sexually mature for a decade and not have sex because they aren't married?
