I would only support the use of nuclear weapons
It shit like this that is used to justify terrorism. Nuclear weapons don't make a distinction between terrorists and innocent civilians, women and children and then therre is all those who live for weeks and months in agony before dying from radiation burns, radiation poisoning, and multiple cancers that they don't even have names for.
But you couldn't care at all, could you? Of course not, In your eyes they are just muslims, it's not like they are human beings like christians are, who cares if we kill thousands of them is a nuclear fireball. That saddest part is I can be fairly sure that's exactly what you are thinking, because I've heard more than a few christians voice that very same sentiment.
For me it's clear our military can't overpower these terrorist by conventional means
Oh, they can, It's just that they can't do it without engaging in the wholesale massacre of the population, also know as genocide. Even your beloved Bush was smart enough to realize that such an act is not only unthinkable and counter productive, it's also counter to everything the US is supposed to stand for.

If your think that then you do not have the slightest understanding how terrorists think. You won't scare them into submission, you will justify and enbolden them. You way would essentially turn america into a prison, because across the rest of the world it will be open season on americans. And don't think for one fucking second that we would be safe in our own borders. America will find itself without allies, without any moral high ground, it will be a pariah among nations, and when americans are killed in terrorist attacks you won't see any outpouring sympathy from the world like after 9/11, just people who say "they brought it on themselves with their senseless slaughter of civilians"
And the end result, maybe not immedietly, maybe not for years, but it will be a nuclear denonation in one or more american cities and even more innocent civilians dying.
