No....it's because we have wingnuts like you making a bigger noise than and often getting elected or bigger influence.
That said; The fact that the haters and bigots are now fully-exposed and "out-in-the-open" may be a blessing-in-disguise....The saner folks may find it easier to fight and stop them. It's hard to fight evil when it's hidden.
I think what's going on lately is more a matter of "people being more open about being Fascist/bigots" as opposed to "more people are being turned-on to Fascism/bigotry".
Europe has been through guys like Hitler, Mussolini and Franco. This may be my impression of things, being a "Dumb American" and all...But most of Western Europe tends to have better education systems and hate speech is often curtailed. This is not a society where everyone would go "FASCISM: FUCK, YEAH!" (Eastern Europe is likely a different story, they come off to be as Europe's answer to "Dogpatch", they never could get the hang of this 'Progressivism/High Living Standards/Freedom & Equality' thing). I think the rising Far-Right is mostly kooks who were haters to begin with who just became more open and pushy about it.
I believe in the concept of "THE GREAT YEAR" (Be it Tropical Zodiac Equinox Procession/The Hindu Yuga Cycle according to Sri Yukteswar/Plato's Great Year....I see them as basically the same concept).....
